It's a VA panel, which is good for contrasts but loses out to an IPS in a few ways, but it's around $10 cheaper than a competitive IPS. It's also rated to 180 Hz, which isn't bad.

The LOQ might have something of a budget chassis, but it regularly crops up with a substantial discount, making it a great pick for those looking to save some cash. This one's got a 100 W variant of the RTX 5060, which is a decent dose of power for this price range, and while the 1080p 144 Hz display isn't wonderful, it should help to keep frame rates high. I'd like to see a bigger SSD, as 512 GB is very tight—but sticking an extra drive in the second M.2 slot later on is an easy upgrade.

The Alienware 16 Aurora has dropped to reasonable money again, and it makes for a tempting machine. It's worth noting, though, that the RTX 5060 is limited to an 85 W TGP, so it's got its work cut out for it driving this 1600p IPS display. Still, if you don't mind leaning on DLSS 4 and Multi Frame Generation to get the frame rates up in the demanding stuff, it's still a whole lot of laptop for the money. 32 GB of DDR5 is especially nice to see at this price, and it's got a decent 1 TB of NVMe storage as standard, too.

It's still very difficult to find most RTX 5080 laptops for anything close to $2,000 right now, so this one represents pretty stunning value. Our Dave has been playing with this particular model recently and likes the value proposition you get when you take into account that mega GPU, although it is a bit of a hairdryer on full whack. Still, stick it in Balanced mode and the noise is much more reasonable, and it still performs about as well as the other RTX 5080 machines we've tested. Which is to say, very well indeed.

Our best high-performance gaming laptop pick features a monstrous collection of components, and while it can be found on discount at various retailers right now, this is the cheapest I can find it for in full game-crunching trim. The RTX 5080 is a full-strength 175 W variant, the panel is a 240 Hz OLED stunner, the Intel CPU is mega, and as our Dave found in his review, the gaming performance is simply excellent. It's one of the fastest laptops we've tested to date, yet comes wrapped in a chassis you'd actually want to show off—although it must be said, it's a pretty sizeable machine to lug around if you plan on taking it on your travels.

Okay, the Steam Deck may have had an OLED refresh and there are heaps of more powerful handhelds around, but the original version is still the archetype of what a mobile PC gaming device should be. It's just as powerful as the OLED model, so all those Steam Deck compatible games should run well. It's the OG PC gaming handheld, and it still demands respect, although this particular version does have quite a small SSD. Replacing it later with a larger unit is no great hassle, however.

The lightweight Steam OS integration in combination with its Ryzen Z1 Extreme APU means it's surprisingly powerful, all while being extremely comfortable to use and remarkably well-equipped. While you can find the Z2 Go version for cheaper, this is the one you want.

This Battlemage-powered card is only a fraction slower than the last-gen A770, the most powerful Alchemist model, but it's worth noting that some games still don't like Intel's GPU architecture. You are getting quite a lot of GPU for the money, but it's a tough one to recommend when the faster B580 is only a little more expensive.

Nvidia's lowliest member of the RTX 50-series family isn't going to win many awards. Roughly on par with an RTX 4060 (sometimes slower, sometimes faster), it's only worth considering if you must have DLSS 4. Best to pay a bit more and get a far superior RX 9060 XT or RTX 5060, or stick to your budget and bag a B580.

The RX 9070 XT is AMD's best graphics card in recent years, so naturally, it's hugely popular, resulting in very low stocks and sky-high prices. While this is technically a deal, the price isn't any lower than the MSRP. It is, however, far more sensibly priced than the RTX 5070 Ti.

At its $749 MSRP, the RTX 5070 Ti is an expensive but superb graphics card, and although this isn't much of a deal, at least you're not paying more than you should. If you think of it as being like an RTX 4080 with DLSS 4 support, though, then it looks like a real bargain. That said, the RX 9070 XT is $100 cheaper...

Over last year's sales period, the Radeon RX 7900 XTX was much cheaper and sold like proverbial hotcakes. Unfortunately, that means stocks are super low everywhere and prices are sky-high again. It's not value for money, so only buy one if you absolutely must have AMD's most powerful GPU and 24 GB of VRAM, as the RTX 5070 Ti is cheaper and faster in games.

While you can easily pick up an RTX 5080 at Nvidia's MSRP, it's also arguably not worth paying that amount of money. That's because it's not that much faster than the RTX 4080 it replaces. You do get the full DLSS 4 suite, including Multi Frame Generation, but you're better off waiting until prices become more sensible, assuming they ever do.

With the likelihood of the RTX 5090 ever being sold at a 'mere mortals' price (aka MSRP or lower) roughly being zero, you're left with options like this one if you really must have the most powerful gaming graphics card money can buy. It's astonishingly fast, but oh boy, that price tag.

This is one helluva gaming monitor. If you imagine two 1440p panels glued side-by-side, you wouldn't be far wrong, though this is seamless. This Silicon Power might not be the fastest of drives, but it's difficult to argue with this much storage for this sort of money. With a sequential read/write of 5,000 MB/s and 4,500 MB/s, it's still not what you'd call slow and should be fine for gaming; plus it comes from a reliable brand.

This is a good drive for bulking out your storage, especially for a Steam library. It uses QLC NAND than its sibling, the slightly more expensive MP44, and that means it is a bit slower when it gets down to the raw NAND speeds, but thankfully that won't happen unless you're moving huge files around on the regular.

This is a massive amount of NVMe storage for the cash, working out at a mere four cents per GB. The US75 might not technically have the fastest read and write speeds of all the Gen 4 drives on the market, but it's absolutely no slouch either, and would make a seriously brilliant games storage drive. Or anything else, for that matter.

This Team Group boasts some mighty specs for the money, though it's actually the same hardware as in the Lexar NM790. The sequential read/write speeds are extremely high but it can only sustain them over short bursts. At this price, it's well worth putting up with that limitation. Ignore the tiny 'saving' and just focus on the fact you're getting 4 TB of our favorite gaming SSD (check out our review) for a reasonable price. If 4 TB still isn't enough for you, then there's the 8 TB version of the SN850X, but at $600, it's more than double the price of two 4 TB drives.

Our top pick for the best budget external SSD. Not only does this external drive maintain its peak transfer speed for over six minutes, it's also dinky enough to attach to the end of your lanyard. Thumb drive, who? But without a hard-wearing outer shell to protect it should this SSD take a tumble, or even an IP rating for dust protection, perhaps you're better off treating this budget drive like a little prince.

Not all external SSDs need to be big and bulky. This Team Group PD20M is just 40 g in weight and 8.2 mm thick, making it very portable. It's also MagSafe-compatible so you can attach it to the back of an iPhone and extend its storage, with an appropriate cable. As with all fast external SSDs, you'll need a USB 3.2 Gen2x2 (20 Gbps) port to get the full speed.

Small, light, and very fast in the right USB port, this little SSD might be all you need for your external storage requirements. While we didn't think it offered a great amount of drop resistance in our review, the SD810 is rated to IP68, so it'll fend off dust and water ingress nicely.

Crucial is a big name in SSDs, and the Micron-owned brand is offering a small saving on this 2 TB external model. The drive comes in an anodized aluminium shell with a rubberized base and is just 65 x 50 mm big. There's an integrated lanyard hole too, if you want to wear it, which hides a drive activity light.

Samsung's external drives have a better recent history than its internal SSDs, so we've no hesitation in recommending the T7 for any professional looking for a large amount of storage that can be safely taken from place to place. They're designed to be rugged and fast, a potent combo. Oh, and they're available in three colors. Don't forget that you'll need to have a USB 3.2 Gen 2 port in your PC to get the best speed.

This external SSD is the fastest I've tested, both in terms of sustained write speeds and also RND4k performance (which is great for gaming). It looks and feels the premium part too. Just make sure you have a 40 Gbps USB4 port that can make good use of it before you pull the trigger.

Though still expensive, the asking price for this high capacity drive puts other big, beefy external SSDs to shame. It's the same size as the X6 model but has double the read/write performance, though you will need to plug it into a 20 Gbps USB port to get the most out of it.

We've said it once, so we'll say it again: fast both in terms of sustained write speeds and also RND4k performance, this is a particularly premium feeling external gaming SSD that typically comes with a price tag to match.

Fractal Design makes a mean PC case, and it recently turned its gaze towards the world of gaming chairs with the Refine. It's a comfortable chair with a good look, as you can read about in our review, though it's not ideal for bigger bodies.

Our favorite gaming chair does not come cheap, with the prices having risen consistently since the Titan Evo originally launched. To combat that Secretlab has released the Titan Evo Lite, a chair coming in at the same original price as the Titan Evo. It's got the same essential design but lacks some of the luxury touches, such as adjustable lumbar support and the special magnetic neck pillow and armrests.

In our review of the XL version, we found it to be very comfy indeed with nice features like the magnetic snap-on neck support pillow and built-in adjustable lumbar support. The adjustment knobs might be a bit fiddly, but overall this is a great gaming chair with a host of features even some of the more expensive thrones would love to have.

I sit on this chair when I'm in the office. Well, the Pro version, anyways. The Pro version comes with a headreast and some slightly fancier lumbar features, but the headrest is actually my least favorite thing about the chair. The rest of it is comfortable, supportive, and adjustable. Plus, it looks normal on a work call and not like some sort of gaming throne.

The Titan Evo is not just a gaming chair but a gaming throne, thanks to a comfortable seat, sturdy build, and great look. It is a tad more expensive than the previous Evo, but an $80 discount helps bridge that gap.

This excellent chair is one I use every single day, because it's just so comfortable and strong. You can read my full Logitech G Embody review for more info. One thing to note: the 'before' price on this chair is a lot higher these days than when this chair was first announced. It used to be $1,495, then $1,595, and now it's a whopping $2,045 so it's not as big a saving as it looks, though still a decent chunk cheaper than last week.

You might laugh at the dorky nature of a sim racing stand but you shouldn't. I used one of these for a while and it makes a world of difference to an aspiring sim racer. Namely, it locks your pedals in place which prevents slippage, but it's also a good way to keep your wheel secured without constantly fitting and removing it from your desk all the time. Plus is folds out of the way.

Playseat has become one of the go-to names for foldable sim racing fun, and this chair gives you most of the advantages of a proper sim racing rig setup while remaining foldable enough to stick in a wardrobe. You get plenty of adjustment, a pedal mount to stop your foot controls from slipping around, and a comfy driving position that's much more convenient to have in your home than a big metal frame.

This little microphone might be cheap, but it's surprisingly good at doing its one task in life, as we found in our review. That's picking up your vocals from a desktop position, although it's even got a boom arm screw mounting for close up work—and it's pretty good at that, too. It's very cheap and very cheerful, but you don't get any software noise cancelling to play with. Can't have everything for well under $30, ey?

The SoloCast has just had an update, but the original is still something of a small gaming microphone classic. You don't get a whole lot of features here, although it does have a rather attractive red light and tap-to-mute functionality. Still, it's a great budget performer, and cheap as you like.

The NZXT Capsule Elite is an excellent mid-range microphone, with great audio capture from a distance and a rich sound. It's got looks that might split the room, but if you're into its retro-chic flair, it's probably the desktop mic for you. There's some subtle RGB lighting around the back, too, for you streamer types.

If you're looking to stand out on your next stream, or perhaps you're just a big fan of RGB lighting, the HyperX QuadCast 2 S is probably the mic for you. It's got a great-sounding capsule, a built-in shock mount to prevent accidental bumps, and that all-important bling factor. Or is it rizz? Help, I'm getting old.

This is a hefty discount on almost everything you need to get streaming in style. I say almost, because the included microphone is good from a desktop position, but great in close up—and you'll unfortunately need to provide a boom arm yourself. The Stream Mixer mini-console included in this setup is very good indeed, though, and supports XLR connections with +48 V phantom power, along with programmable buttons and a dial for all your quick-switching needs.

Those backlit keys are on the subtle side of RGB lighting, and the Logitech comes off as a class act for less at this price.

Considered to be the best low-profile mechanical gaming keyboard by us, thanks to great switches, super solid build quality, and great media controls, this is a great board, only really let down by its usually high price. With $30 off, this becomes a more attractive package.

In our Logitech G915 X Lightspeed review, we praise this keyboard's excellent battery life, responsive keys, and great feel, and our biggest criticism is that it is quite expensive. Luckily, this deal solves our main problem. It has meaningful improvements over the standard G915 model, with a firmer board and better battery, and it's well worth the extra cash if you have it.

That's quite a lot of cash for a keyboard, but it shows in not only the tech underneath the keys (like some impressive switches) but also build quality and extra quality-of-life features. We've already raved about Hall Effect joysticks and how they spell the end for the dreaded stick drift. In this wireless gaming controller, they're a welcome feature, but this handful of gaming hardware packs a few quirky surprises too. For instance, the triggers also benefit from a Hall effect, but not only that, there are extra bumper buttons. They're billed as fully remappable 'Fast Bumpers,' though their inner corner placement may not sit well for those with tiny mitts.

It may be vulnerable to stick drift (and that's a big downside), but it's hard to deny the quality on show with Microsoft's Xbox controller. Textured grips, clicky buttons, a nice weight and feel: it's got everything you need, ergonomically speaking. It's hard to stand out in the game controller market, but the Scuf Instinct Pro manages it—and we're not just talking about the striking pink colourway Dave tested in his review. Customization is the name of the Instinct Pro's game, from snazzy faceplates to button facades, thumb stick toppers, and even the option to entirely remove rumble functionality like the pros. Anyway, after all of that, here comes the punchline: it's not rechargeable! All that sophistication, and this controller only takes AA batteries. Still, it's a great unit regardless.

The HyperX Cloud Stinger 2 doesn't have the most robust of chassis designs, but it's difficult to argue with the audio quality for the price, especially when you've given it a tweak with the DTS Headphone X spatial audio codec. The fit is very comfortable, too.

A stone cold classic at this point, the Razer BlackShark V2 X delivers a huge whack of everything you might want in a wired gaming headset for a very reasonable price. For a mere $33, you're getting 50 mm titanium drivers, a good microphone, comfy memory foam earpads, and a green cable. Yes, a green cable. Worth the price alone, if you ask me.

If you're wondering why you might pay a little more than the Razer headset above for, well, another Razer headset, the answer is comfort. Don't get me wrong, the BlackShark V2 X is a comfy thing to wear, but the plush, cushy memory foam cushions of the Kraken are well worth considering if you're looking for as much all-day usage as possible. It still sounds great, too.

Quite literally our favourite wired gaming headset, the HyperX Cloud Alpha has reigned supreme at the top of our guide for some time now, and looks to be staying there for a while longer. It's a powerful, punchy performer with superb comfort and a refined design, and even better, it regularly turns up on discount. Tough to beat, this one.

SteelSeries knows a thing or two about comfort, and has plastered the inside of this set with its AirWeave memory foam cushions, which I can tell you are immensely comfortable (and surprisingly hard-wearing). You get AI-powered noise cancelling for the mic if you install SteelSeries' Sonar software, too, which is a bonus, alongside some handsome good looks and some excellent drivers.

At under 200 grams and less than $50, the G435 Lightspeed is a budget beast, and also pretty good for taking on the go thanks to a comfy cushioning and lack of an external mic. That being said, you can still chat to your friends via a built-in microphone, and the included connector should help with any latency.

Featuring the same comfy build and drivers as some of its more expensive cousins, you also finally get a detachable mic arm too. The volume dial is much more fiddly, but it's a small price to pay if you're on a budget.

The Turtle Beach Stealth 600 Gen 3 came as something of a surprise, given that we haven't been too keen on some of its siblings. But whaddaya know, this one's actually pretty great. It's got a clean, understated design, a good microphone, a wide soundstage, and excellent 80-hour battery life, complete with quick charge to top it up in a hurry. Plus, it's a Bluetooth set, which means you could wear it in public without looking like a gamer-on-the-go. It might not have a discount right now, but this is still a very good price on a very good set.

The Void V2 is certainly a stylish gaming headset, and we found it to be very comfortable in our review, too. It's a versatile set with an extra Bluetooth connection alongside the 2.4 GHz dongle, and delivers a clear, accurate sound, making for a light-touch set with great day-to-day sensibilities. It's a shame Corsair wants you to install some fairly bloaty software, and there's no wired connection, but otherwise it's a great wireless set for the cash.

50 mm titanium drivers deliver crisp sound, and the battery can offer up to 90 hours of power under the best conditions. Our James gave this set a very positive review, and he stands by their excellent sound and superb comfort to this day. I checked, and everything.

I think I can convince you this is a headset well worth looking at with one bite of the cherry—300-hour battery life. Yep, that's not a typo. With a neat magnetic charging stand, a comfortable fit, and lush sound, the Fractal Design Scape earns its hefty MSRP. It's let down a little by a lack of noise cancelling and an average microphone, but it's a gorgeous set of cans, and both colorways are included in the deal.

If you're looking for a cheap pair of earbuds with some premium specs, the EarFun Air Pro 4 are much better than the name might suggest. They sound great and have excellent battery life, though the lack of a 2.4 GHz mode is a slight disappointment. Bluetooth with Game Mode is good enough, though.

These buds are simply the best we've tested, full stop. That's because they offer a 2.4 GHz, dongle-based wireless connection alongside traditional Bluetooth support, which means you get super-fast gaming response times as well as the convenience of a set of earbuds to tuck in your pocket, ready to face the world wherever you go. They're water resistant and offer up to 40-hour battery life, too, which is grand.

Look, I'm not going to tell you these are the perfect earbuds for gaming, because they're not. Thanks to a Bluetooth-only connection, there's a bit of lag that rules this set out as a pure gaming device. What the Sennheiser buds deliver, though, is the best audio I've ever heard from earbud drivers, wrapped up in a convenient, hard-wearing case that's made them my constant companions for well over a year. Yes, there are caveats. But these buds? Bloomin' brilliant.
