With Silent Hill: Townfall on the horizon, there’s never been a better time to talk horror. It’s a great time to be a horror fan, with Konami firmly setting its sights back on gaming through Silent Hill 2 and Silent Hill: The Short Message, while Capcom continues pushing the genre forward with games like Resident Evil Requiem. We’re truly in the midst of a horror renaissance. We sat down with Jon McKellan, director of Silent Hill: Townfall and founder of developer Screen Burn, alongside Silent Hill series producer Motoi Okamoto, to talk about the nightmarish setting of St. Amelia, new protagonist Simon, the game’s 1990s setting, its first-person perspective, and much more.

We trapped a bunch of gamers in VR to see how they reacted to Valve's new Steam Frame headset. With only a little knowledge of what they were in for, we threw headcrabs, zombies, ping-pong playing kitties, and off-brand lightsabers at them to see how they would react. And, interestingly, the experience of coming face-to-face with Half-Life: Alyx's zombies was almost universally preferable to being confronted with the actual price of the Steam Frame. Yikes.

During Gamescom we sat down with the voices behind CD Projekt's upcoming expansion, The Witcher 3: Songs of the Past. We spoke to the actors behind Geralt of Rivia and Dandelion about how it feels to be back, their thoughts on the TV show, why Dandelion and Geralt are such good friends, and much more.

CD Projekt RED invited PC Gamer to be one of the first outlets in the world to preview a hands off demo of their up and coming expansion for The Witcher 3: Songs of the Past. Our news writer Josh Wolens headed to Poland to talk to both CD Projekt RED and Fool’s theory, the studio who is taking lead development of the project and learn about Geralt’s next adventure, his new weapon, visiting Dandelion's home, Witcher 3 remaster and much more.

Twenty-five years ago, Onimusha: Warlords kicked off a beloved action game franchise, blending elements of Japanese history with dark fantasy. Now, two decades since the last entry, Onimusha: Way of the Sword is bringing the series back. You play as legendary swordsman Miyamoto Musashi and must battle your way through the demonic forces of the genmar to free Edo period Kyoto from the clutches of evil. PC Gamer's Print Editor Robert Jones recently travelled to Capcom in Japan for an exclusive opportunity to play the game, meet the people behind it, and visit several historic sites that inspired Onimusha: Way of the Sword.
