I only reviewed this awesome 4K Tandem OLED gaming monitor a few months ago and it's already $200 cheaper for Prime Day
High-end 4K thrills for vaguely sensible money.
I only reviewed this hot new Tandem OLED 32-inch 4K panel in July. It was $899 back then, and I liked it a fair bit at that price. But it's already been chopped back to $699 and, at that level, I'm very much tempted myself.
Key specs: 32-inch | 4K | 240 Hz | 0.03 ms | LG Tandem WOLED
It was only July when I reviewed the hot new Asus ROG Strix XG32UQWMS and its fancy 32-inch 4K LG Tandem WOLED panel. It was good enough to score 85% priced at $899 in July. But now it's already been reduced by $200 for Prime Day.
Newegg has the Asus ROG Strix XG32UQWMS listed at $699. At that price, it would have been flirting with a 90% highly recommended score.
Lest you have forgotten, this Asus Strix model gets the latest Tandem WOLED panel tech, which is LG's brightest yet for PC monitors. Asus rates it at 330 nits full screen and an eye-popping 1,500 nits peak HDR in this implementation.
LG Tandem WOLED tech isn't just brighter, however. LG claims it's 60% more durable in terms of light-emitting lifespan and so should resist burn-in even more robustly, an issue which is covered in any case by Asus's three-year warranty on this model.
Brightness aside, we're talking 32 inches and 4K, of course, plus 240 Hz at the native 4K and a 480 Hz dual-mode for adding some esports-friendly speed and low latency.
Asus has also gone for a glossy panel coating, which heightens contrast and really makes the most of OLED tech's perfect per-pixel lighting. As I noted in my review, the result is "some spectacular visuals for HDR content."
As for what you don't get, well, this isn't a pure RGB-stripe Tandem WOLED panel. So, the colour vibrancy isn't quite as good as the very best. And there's no USB-C connectivity.
But those details aside, this is a fantastic, bleeding-edge 4K OLED monitor at a very attractive deal price.
