The Steam Machine has been one of the most eagerly anticipated of Valve's Steam hardware triumvirate since it was unveiled back in November last year. But the world has changed since then and now we've actually got the Steam Machine in our hands, and Valve has finally settled on a price and a novel randomised system to buy one, Dave and Andy have got together to lament what could have once a great entry point to PC gaming.

I've been testing 8 GB vs 16 GB graphics cards to see how they hold up under real-world gaming conditions, and the results are a little surprising. Looking forward to the Steam Controller? Want to know more before you decide whether to buy one? We've spoken to two of the people behind it: Steve Cardinali and Lawrence Yang. We talk pricing, spare parts, and more.

Directive 8020 is an upcoming narrative survival horror from Until Dawn creators, Supermassive Games. Set aboard the interstellar spaceship Cassiopeia, 8020 pits a crew of scientists journeying a remote planet against a shapeshifting alien lifeform in a twisting 'choices matter' story. Taking influence from horror cinema like John Carpenter's The Thing (1982), and Alien (1979), we sent our bravest explorer Elie Gould for a hands-on preview of the game, which is out on May 12th.

We sat down with Mega Crit co-founder Casey Yano for the first Slay the Spire 2 post-launch interview. We dive into the magnitude of the games success, what the ending could look like, character win rates, review bombing, and how player feedback. Plus — new characters, new modes, and what’s next for Slay the Spire 2.
