Amazon isn't offering the best RX 9070 XT gaming PC deal right now, Newegg is
And it's under $1,800.
Thanks to compromises made in smart areas, this Andromeda gaming PC is arguably the lowest I'd be willing to spend on an RX 9070 XT rig right now and it, paired with that AMD CPU, should give you strong 1440p gaming performance. Just don't fill up that SSD too quickly.
Key specs: RX 9070 XT 16 GB | 16 GB DDR5 | AMD Ryzen 5 9600X | 1 TB SSD | 850W Gold
With Prime Day comes the dreaded realisation of how far the memory crisis has come. Gaming PCs are now so expensive that even on sale, they're cost more than they would have even a year ago.
But if you gotta pick one up, there are deals to be had. The Andromeda Insights Spectra is currently available at Newegg for $1,750, and it's the best price I can find on a rig with DDR5 memory, and that graphics card.
We round up the best gaming PC deals right here at PC Gamer every single week, and the memory crisis has done such a number on the price of gaming PCs that it's rare to find an RX 9070 XT rig around this price. In fact, they usually shoot above $2,000. The lower price here shows in the just 16 GB of memory included alongside a relatively budget-friendly CPU.
Still, our Nick really liked the Ryzen 5 9600X in his review back in 2024, saying, "The first delivery in the current Zen 5 family is fast and cool, and a little cheaper than its predecessor. Nothing wrong with that but you might want to temper your expectations a little."
Still, that CPU paired with this 16 GB graphics card is sure to provide strong 1440p gameplay. It's a beast of a card, and one that gives RTX 5070 Ti-level performance at a lower price.
In fact, you would struggle to find an RTX 5070 Ti rig for less than $2,000 right now, so this is a mighty saving. Though 16 GB of memory may look a tad low, it is dual-channel (according to the pictures on the listing), and for most gamers, that should be enough. As our Nick investigated earlier this year, 16 GB of memory is still pretty strong. This rig also comes with a copy of Onimusha: Way of the Sword, which should run fabulously on it.
Now, you can find RX 9070 XT rigs under this price, like the Velztorm Fultix for $1,773, but you're getting a Ryzen 5 5500, 16 GB of DDR4 memory, and only 512 GB of SSD storage there. I personally would pay the extra $100 for all the extras in the Andromeda rig.
And don't even get me started on the GRI desktop going for $1,737.99, which is BYOR (Bring Your Own RAM). If you want something capable, with the right compromises to get comfortably under $2,000, the Andromeda rig is worth your attention.

James is a more recent PC gaming convert, often admiring graphics cards, cases, and motherboards from afar. It was not until 2019, after just finishing a degree in law and media, that they decided to throw out the last few years of education, build their PC, and start writing about gaming instead. In that time, he has covered the latest doodads, contraptions, and gismos, and loved every second of it. Hey, it’s better than writing case briefs.
