The gaming PC market is in a truly horrible place. The memory crisis is sucking up tons of hardware, and causing memory, SSDs, and even graphics cards to surge in price as a result. Yet, the one single positive of the last six months of PC gaming is that monitors have only gotten cheaper.

Though we'll get to its downsides, the upside of OLED gaming monitors is evident the second you turn them on. They offer great color reproduction, excellent contrasts with true blacks, and superb image quality. In fact, swapping to an OLED gaming monitor is arguably the greatest upgrade I've made to my gaming setup, making all my games look so much better.
And you aren't lacking on other specs either. 180 Hz is a strong refresh rate, and the 0.03 ms response time is super snappy too. Though you can technically get a 4K gaming monitor for less cash (like this Acer Nitro IPS one for $180), my money would be spent on this OLED here. A 4K resolution requires beefy graphics hardware, and even if you can run it, I'd often take 1440p on the lush OLED screen and enjoy superior frame rates instead.
OLEDs can suffer from burn-in (that and the price are the biggest downsides), but this display has got some built-in burn-in safeguarding tech and a three-year warranty if you're anxious it won't last you very long. We've also seen independent testing that suggests, while not a 10)% solved issue, you have to work pretty hard to burn in a modern OLED gaming monitor. Treat it right and you should get years and years without a hint of it.
You also get G-Sync and FreeSync here, so the Samsung is offering pretty much everything you want out of a modern gaming monitor, and at a price that genuinely shocked me a little when I saw it this morning.
I watch over our best cheap gaming monitor deals page every single week, so I'm used to checking the OLED market, but this is the cheapest I can remember seeing all year. This monitor is even cheaper than it was at the last Prime Day, and it was already an excellent deal back then.
If you want your games to really pop, and have a few hundred spare, I simply couldn't recommend the swap to OLED enough, and at 27 inches, it's also perfect as part of a dual monitor setup. I'd know, as that's exactly what I'm running at home.
