I've been looking for graphics card deals all day and this RX 9070 GRE at MSRP is the only thing saving me from total despair
It's rough out there. The GRE is about as good as it gets.
It's pretty rough out there for graphics card deals. I've seen some awful things trying to track down any Prime Day deals, including an RTX 5060 Ti for near-enough the MSRP of an RTX 5070 Ti. It's nearly double the price of the 8 GB model, which is still $100 over MSRP.
That's all nothing new but still utterly depressing. The memory crisis has done a number on graphics cards, especially Nvidia ones. So, I suppose I should be a little thankful for this XFX Swift AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT GRE over at Best Buy.
It's not a deal, per se, but it's not nothing. It's still holding out at $550, which is exactly the price it launched at not too long ago.
Now, we have admittedly seen it for less in recent weeks. A couple of different GRE models, one from Asus and one from Gigabyte, were down to $500. Though these have shot up since. They're both above the card's usual asking price today, as are all others I've seen.
It's a decent graphics card, though. It comes with 12 GB of GDDR6 VRAM, which should tide over any PC gamer for a while in the latest games. At least until this whole AI build-out nonsense is over and done with and GPUs are back at sensible prices.
We reviewed the Acer Nitro RX 9070 GRE earlier in the year. It scored reasonably well then for its solid performance compared to the RTX 5060 Ti and RTX 5070. It's often beaten by the higher-tier Nvidia card, but not by loads, and that GPU costs silly money now.

It should be roundly beaten by the RX 9070, which has the same MSRP in theory. Though that card now costs $700. So, yeah, maybe not.
Alas, the RX 9070 GRE is still the best we've got. Though it's going up in price right now, which is the exact opposite trend that we were hoping for from this Prime Day. Maybe Black Friday will finally see another reduction for this final bastion of reasonable priced graphics performance?
