Where to find the Ruined Homestead in Arc Raiders

Key deets

⚡You can find the Ruined Homestead in south Blue Gate by the Olive Grove.

⚡You can take a picture of any house in the area.

⚡Taking pictures now requires an uncommon camera item.

The first step in Arc Raiders new Sheltered Retreat project to build your outpost is to "take a photo of any farmland house around the Ruined Homestead on The Blue Gate map."

You can find the Ruined Homestead in the south of the region, just by the Olive Grove where everyone used to fight over lemons and olives for Scrappy. First, though, you'll need a camera item. Unlike in the past, when you could just interact with a structure to take a picture, you now need an actual piece of gear to do it. You can get a camera by:

  • Purchasing one from Shani for 1.9k.
  • Crafting one at the basic workbench for:
    • 8x Plastic Parts
    • 1x Wire
  • Certain quests, like the new Sizing Things Up also give you a camera upon accepting them.

Of course, having to bring a camera also means you can no longer use free loadouts to complete quests involving photos. I suggest storing your camera in your safe pocket until you need it.

Now, head to the Ruined Homestead, equip the camera, use right mouse button to aim, and then left mouse button to take the snap. Any of the main farm buildings in that area seem to count, so it's easy enough to finish this stage.
