EverQuest Next Landmark enters closed beta on March 26, SOE talks player collaboration

EverQuest Next Landmark will leave alpha and enter a closed beta on 26 March, SOE told us at GDC this week. Anyone who has purchased one of the founder's packs, now including the $20 Settler option, will be able to play the game as it reaches this stage—SOE promised it would be happening before the end of March, and here that day is.

Nosgoth's war between humans and vampires inches closer to full release with the announcement of a closed beta set to begin Thursday. An heir to the long-dormant Legacy of Kain universe, the online-multiplayer game's closed beta should debut a new game mode, according to developer Psyonix.

Crytek’s free-to-play military FPS, Warface, has just received a free update called the “Sneak Phase” that adds in new maps, female soldiers, and a few other goodies for those who’ve managed to find a way into the closed beta.


Miner Wars 2081 enters beta, new trailer shows co-op base assault

The Descent-like first person space blaster Miner Wars 2081 is now in closed beta. It's only available to pre-order customers at the moment, but it's a sure sign that it's nearing a full release. It's taken developers, Keen Software House, three years to reach this feature-complete build, which currently contains 31 missions and a multiplayer mode that supports 16 player co-op. "We're disclosing much of the game content in this update. It's no longer a technological demo; it's got those things you've been waiting to sink your teeth into," they say on the Miner Wars site. Warface closed beta sign ups are now live! If you're interested a chance to check out Crytek's upcoming, CryEngine powered, free-to-play shooter with the silly name then you can head over to Warface.com now and enter your details into the empty fields on the right. Ghost Recon Online closed beta sign-ups available, new trailer talks classes

Ubisoft's free-to-play multiplayer shooter, Ghost Recon Online will be heading into closed beta on March 5. Blues news mention that you can sign up for a slot now on the Ghost Recon Online site. The new trailer above shows off the three classes. Cowardly long-range shooty man (recon), mid-range shooty man (assault) and mad-gadget man (specialist). You can see more of the interesting super-weapons each class can wield in the recent Ghost Recon Online gadgets trailer.


Guild Wars 2 beta goes live today for a select few

In an Ask Me Anything Q&A on Reddit yesterday, Guild Wars 2 systems designer Jon Peters revealed that the MMO "will officially enter Closed Beta Testing this Friday." It will only be open to a few carefully selected candidates, for now.

"Based on the feedback we get from our current Closed Beta Testing, we will determine the next phases of our beta program in which we will open beta access to more people," he wrote
