At just over AU$30, you might as well buy this well-reviewed Logitech gaming mouse in case of emergency
I wish I had thought to buy a backup mouse.

I had intended to use my January holiday to play at least a little bit of Pillars of Eternity, mostly to prepare for Avowed. Alas, my mouse spat the dummy on January 2, which isn't an ideal day to suffer mouse failure. Sure, I could have ordered a new one online, but I wanted to play Pillars of Eternity now.
There wasn't much I could do about it, so instead of playing videogames I spent time with my family.
During sales events it's common to see gaming mice go for way less than AU$50, and I'm not talking no name trash either: Logitech and Razer often drop their budget gaming rodents to somewhere in the AU$30 to AU$40 price range during Black Friday and Amazon Prime Day. I regretted not having bought one then, which is why I'm pretty eager to sound the alert on this current Logitech deal.
The Logitech G203 Lightsync gaming mouse is currently going for AU$32.30 at Amazon, which is a nice 54% discount on its AU$69.95 RRP. It's not an all-time low: it was down to AU$28 at the beginning of last year, but just over AU$30 for a respectable gaming mouse is worth consideration if you're like I am now: anxious about not having a backup plan.
It's a budget option even at RRP, but Jacob's 80 / 100 review makes a solid case for it. It's a wired affair with five buttons, 8,000 DPI and classy customisable RGB. The black model is available for AU$32.30, while other colours, including white, are available at the slightly higher price of AU$38.
Save AU$37.95
A nice chunky saving on this brilliant six-button budget gaming mouse. This appears on our list of the best gaming mouse, chiefly in the category of best budget wired. We loved its shape, its three-zone RGB lighting and it's price. At this price it lacks some features and some DPI granularity, but it'll still hold you in good stead whether as a main or a backup.
A range of Logitech products are currently discounted on Amazon, apparently in celebration of "Logitech Week", which is probably only celebrated by Logitech. It's well worth a look if you're after a gaming mouse, headset or keyboard.
