Razer BlackShark V3: was $149 now $129.99 at Walmart

This wireless gaming headset leaves little to be desired. Featuring excellent-sounding titanium TriForce drivers, you're getting enviable gaming and music audio at a very reasonable price. The honking-great volume knob makes it easier than ever to fine-tune your soundscape when things get hectic, too. Our best gaming headset pick for a reason? Yes indeedy.

Key specs: 50 mm drivers | 12 - 28,000 Hz | Closed-back | Wireless | 70 hour battery life

We review a loooot of gaming headsets here at PC Gamer, and yet the very best out there for the average person still has to be the Razer BlackShark V3. It maximises value, comfort and sound all in a package that looks tidy too.

If you fancy picking one up for yourself, a solid $19 price cut is live on the headset at Walmart, making it $130. The only downside is that you have to pick the black model, as the white one is still full price.

We got our hands on the headset in August last year and have been comfortably wrapping it around our ears ever since. That's because the 50 mm TriForce Titanium drivers deliver excellent audio, and the lightweight chassis makes it comfortable for long gaming sessions.

The V3 has super-low-latency connectivity via the HyperSpeed Wireless interface, and this, alongside its clear and clean sound, makes it great for a competitive environment too. The only problem with the low-latency mode is that it eats into the headset's 70-hour battery life.

Speaking of competitive play, the 9.9 mm mic is the same as the one that comes with the 2023 BlackShark V2 Pro refresh, and it's still very solid. You can hear it for yourself below.

Incredibly, the BlackShark V3 actually beats out its more expensive, bigger brother, the BlackShark V3 Pro, as the best gaming headset right now. That's because its exorbitant cost isn't quite justified in our book. It has a great microphone, fantastic build quality, and new drivers, but its ANC isn't great, and its new feature set kills the battery.

If you want a great gaming headset with lush sound, great build quality, and a neat look, all in a reasonably priced package, the BlackShark V3 knocks it out of the park. And with a light but still notable $19 discount, the best gaming headset has only gotten better.

In that time, he has covered the latest doodads, contraptions, and gismos, and loved every second of it. Hey, it’s better than writing case briefs.
