GameSir G7 Pro Tri-Mode: was $79.99 now $63.99 at Amazon

Our current pick for the best PC controller right now, the GameSir G7 Pro is only slightly pricier than a standard Xbox controller but feels and looks nearly identical, and comes with TMR sticks, tactile switches, and a charging dock to keep it topped up and looking pretty on a shelf. This is the lowest we've seen this controller at, and it was already reasonably priced at MSRP.

Key specs: TMR joysticks | 2.4 GHz wireless, Bluetooth, Wired | Asymmetric | 272 g

Price check: Best Buy $63.99

Though the likes of the Wolverine V3 Pro 8K make for an excellent competitive experience, I wager the average person is much better off with a GameSir G7 Pro, thanks to its included charging stand, great feel, and, most importantly, a stronger price point.

If you fancy picking up a controller we gave 92% just last year, it's currently $16 off at Amazon, for just $64. That's a steal for what is truly an excellent buy.

The black and red model is gorgeous to look at, and without the helping hand of RGB, though you can pick the white, gold, orange, silver, or purple models for the same price. The Dragon's Dogma 2 edition is even 63 cents cheaper. The faceplates can be swapped out, should you want to change up the aesthetic in the future too.

The G7 Pro comes with a tidy charging stand, which also functions as its 2.4 GHz dock. That means you can connect to your PC and charge the controller all from just a single USB Type-C cable.

In the specs department, you are getting TMR thumbsticks, Hall effect triggers, a solid 1,000 Hz polling, and an included 3.5 mm jack for plugging in headphones. The only place it could really be noticeably upgraded is the polling rate, but I personally wouldn't pay $8 extra for the Aimlabs 8K version, which is also on sale.

If you've spent much time with the Xbox pad, the G7 Pro will feel very familiar to you in layout, weight, and size. In fact, I have the G7 Pro 8K on my desk and have for a few months now, and I'd pick it over Microsoft's finest any day. It's just a great-feeling controller that is super easy to use and comfortable in the palms.

The G7 Pro is even compatible with PC and Xbox. The only downside is it needs to be wired to work on your console. You can go totally cable free though on PC, mobile, and Nintendo Switch.

We reckon it is the best controller you can buy right now, and for good reason. The likes of the Wolverine 8K get a better polling rate and sturdier build, but for the average person simply looking for something pretty to sit on a desk, GameSir simply cannot be beaten for value
