Subnautica 2 console commands: turn on god mode, unlock all blueprints, craft without resources, and change your FOV
Modders have already unlocked Subnautica 2's debug console to allow you to use cheats and spawn resources using item ID codes.
Modders sure work fast, huh? Subnautica 2 has only just launched into early access and already there are mods for it, including a couple that a lot of players will be keenly interested in.
If you were wondering if Subnautica 2 had a debug console like the original game, it doesn't—at least not officially. However, modders have uncovered a debug console and with a couple quick mod installs you can start using Subnautica 2 console commands to enable cheats like god mode and gain access to all of the blueprints and recipes in the game. You can also use Subnautica 2 item ID codes, which you'll find below, to add resources and items to your inventory.
You can even change your FOV in Subnautica 2 using console commands, an option not included in the game yet.
How to access Subnautica 2's debug console
- Download UE4SS for Subnautica 2 zip file
- Find your game installation folder (on Steam, right-click the game in your library, go to manage, then browse local files)
- Find the "\Subnautica2\Subnautica2\Binaries\Win64" folder
- Place the zip file in that folder and extract it (or drag the zip file contents there)
- Download the Console Commands mod zip file
- Open it and click through to find the "DebugUIToggle" folder
- Place it in the "\Subnautica2\Subnautica2\Binaries\Win64\Mods" folder
That's all you have to do. Start up Subnautica 2 again, and while playing press F2 (you may have to tap it twice) to access the command console. Tapping F2 again closes the console.
When you press F2, you'll see a number of commands you can click right there on your screen that will let you spawn items in your inventory, toggle individual survival systems like starvation and suffocation, and add slots to your inventory.
However, there are also commands and cheats you can enter manually into the console. Here are the console commands we've found and what they do.
Subnautica 2 console commands
Command | Effects |
god | No longer take damage or need food, water, or oxygen |
invisible | Hostile lifeforms can't see you |
nocost | Craft or process anything without resources |
unlockall | Gain all recipes, blueprints, and journal entries |
kill | Kills you, reprints you immediately |
night | Sets time to nighttime |

oxygen | Prevents oxygen from rising/falling |
togglehud | Hides your HUD [Note: We haven't found a way to turn it back on without quitting and restarting] |
There are more Subnautica 2 console commands, and we'll expand this list as we find and test more. Note: there are some commands that are in the game but are currently disabled, even with mods.
These commands exist but are not working yet:
- Goto
- Fastswim
- Noclip
- Fly
- Warp
Subnautica 2 Item ID codes
If you'd like to spawn items into your inventory using the console, the command is:
Item [name] [amount]
For instance, to spawn 5 units of quartz into your inventory, you would type:
Item quartz 5
Many, but not all, of the item ID codes in Subnautica 2 are the same as the item's name (such as titanium or copper) though some differ. Below are the item ID codes we've found so far, though keep in mind several are placeholder items that are not officially in the game yet and may not work or serve a purpose. We'll update this list when we find and test more item ID codes.

We might need to wait for an official update to use those functions. In the meantime, Unknown Worlds has confirmed to PC Gamer that official console commands and FOV options are planned for Subnautica 2's early access.
"We are planning updates to the game that will include console and camera functions, but are still trying to figure out the timing as we want to make sure these roll out in a way that enables all players—console and PC—to use them," game design lead Anthony Gallegos told PC Gamer.

Chris started playing PC games in the 1980s, started writing about them in the early 2000s, and (finally) started getting paid to write about them in the late 2000s. Following a few years as a regular freelancer, PC Gamer hired him in 2014, probably so he'd stop emailing them asking for more work. Chris has a love-hate relationship with survival games and an unhealthy fascination with the inner lives of NPCs. He's also a fan of offbeat simulation games, mods, and ignoring storylines in RPGs so he can make up his own.
