Grab 32 GB of Corsair DDR5-6000 RAM for $288 when bundled with this Gigabyte X870 AM5 motherboard—a decent saving when similar kits are $400+
A decent saving on RAM is hard to come by these days.
This bundle includes both an AM5 motherboard and a matching RAM kit—both in white. Well, white and gray. They're both genuinely good products, too: Gigabyte's X870 Aorus Elite WiFi 7 and Corsair Vengeance DDR5-6000 32 GB (2x 16 GB). Just note, you can't buy the bundle and return the motherboard alone. That'd be too easy.
Key specs: AM5 socket | DDR5 | 6000 MT/s | CAS 36 | 32 GB (2x 16 GB)
I'm not expecting to see any major deals on RAM kits over the coming Prime Day, due to the ongoing memory crisis. However, there are some bundles that help alleviate the worst of RAM pricing today. Such as this Gigabyte/Corsair bundle at Newegg.
The bundle deal includes:
- Gigabyte X870 Aorus Elite WiFi7 Ice
- DDR5-6000 32 GB (2x 16 GB) RAM
All for $515.
The motherboard alone costs $260 on Newegg (or another seller has it for $234). We reviewed this exact model at the start of last year, awarding it a score of 84% for its great upgradeability and clean look. It's a great fit for any Ryzen 7000-series or 9000-series chip.
The RAM kit is listed for $440 on Newegg. I've also had a look around on Amazon for comparable kits, and even the cheaper options, such as this Lexar Thor Z kit, are $400. That means you're saving around $185–$119 with this bundle deal, which takes some of the pain out of the current PC building crisis—though not all.
It's a good RAM kit. At 6000 MT/s, it's running at the ideal speed for an AM5 processor to get the most out of it, and 32 GB is plenty for any modern machine for a good while yet. It's also rated to a CAS latency of 36, which is perfectly suitable for a gaming rig.
It's also a white kit, which matches the motherboard. Though Newegg does offer a separate bundle for anyone looking for more traditional black build. It includes a MSI MAG X870 Tomahawk WiFi and Corsair Vengeance DDR5-6000 kit, but it's a little more expensive.
This bundle includes both an AM5 motherboard and a matching RAM kit—this time in black. This bundle includes an MSI MAG X870 Tomahawk motherboard with Corsair Vengeance DDR5-6000 32 GB (2x 16 GB).
Key specs: AM5 socket | DDR5 | 6000 MT/s | CAS 36 | 32 GB (2x 16 GB)
These aren't the prices we want to see in any case, but we're working with what's available at the moment. If you're looking to build your own PC and facing the fright of inflated price tags, at least a bundle deal makes things just a little bit better.
