If you've been holding out for a budget gaming laptop with 32 GB of RAM this Prime Day, I've found just the machine for you
It's pretty slim, too.
It might be an 85 W RTX 5060 machine, but this Acer comes with a helluva bonus: 32 GB of RAM for a budget price tag. The 1200p, 180 Hz display is well-suited to its GPU, too—which makes this slimmer-than-average gaming laptop very tempting for the cash.
Key specs: RTX 5060 (115 W) | Ryzen 7 260 | 16-inch | 1200p | 180 Hz | 32 GB DDR5 | 1 TB SSD
There's always the odd surprise over the Prime Day sales period, and this machine definitely raised my eyebrows this morning. That's because it's the rarest of things: a budget gaming laptop with 32 GB of DDR5 and a hefty discount, right in the middle of the memory crisis.
Yes, this Acer Nitro V 16S offers a proper amount of system RAM tucked inside a slim chassis for $1,100 at Amazon. It's also a handsome-looking lappy, so what you're getting here is something rather svelte, all for a much lower price than many of the chonkier models I've been finding.
As you'd expect for the price tag, it's not mega powerful. However, the 85 W-limited RTX 5060 here should still do just fine, as it's been paired with a very reasonable 1200p, 180 Hz display. It'll still need a bit of DLSS assistance in really demanding games, but I reckon it's got a well-weighted specs sheet for the money.
Particularly as it's rocking an eight core, 16-thread AMD CPU. It's not the fastest of AMD mobile chips, but it should still be plenty grunty for both gaming and productivity purposes.
Factor in the downright generous amount of RAM, and a 1 TB SSD for storage, and this laptop looks like it's ignoring the RAMpocalypse-induced price increases entirely. It's like a machine from a different era—not in terms of specs, but definitely in terms of value.
I'd happily snap up one of these little beasties for this sort of cash. Slim, sleek, decently specced, and stuffed full of memory modules. That'll do nicely, thank you very much.
