An Overwatch poster has been spotted in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, leaving some to speculate a collaboration is on the horizon

The rumour mill is churning and this time we've got a two-for-one special, as word on the street is Overwatch and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is gearing up for a collab. Why, you ask? Well other than living under the same Activision Blizzard umbrella, some eagle-eyed fans have spotted an Overwatch poster in one of Modern Warfare 4's maps.

You can see the poster on the right-side wall of what looks to be a South Korean internet cafe. It may have been a slightly jarring sight at first glance, but to be fair, it does make sense. Modern Warfare 4 is set in present day South Korea, and seeing as Overwatch is such a widely played game here, the addition makes sense.

So the cameo makes sense. The only other question I, and many other players have, is whether it will just stop at that or if Activision Blizzard is gearing up for a proper collaboration between the two FPS games. Well, like the poster cameo it wouldn't be the wildest crossover, some players even have a laundry list of ideas which they'd like to see come to Overwatch if it were to happen.

"I NEED a D.Va skin where her ult line is changed to 'Tactical nuke incoming'," one player says. "Emre could have one where Chernobog goes 'AC130 above'." Other ideas include giving Soldier 76 the voice line: "Mission failed, we'll get em next time" or even just a generic Call of Duty skin—he is known as Overwatch's 'Call of Duty guy' after all.

But the most outspoken voice for this potential collaboration is none other than Conor McLeod, Hazard's voice actor: "Ok if we're getting a collab and Soap goes to anyone but the Scottish character, we are rioting. And by we, I mean me." That's not only valid, but also a good idea. I hereby throw my hat in the ring to join the riot if we don't get to see Hazard as Soap.

But this could also all just be wishful thinking. While I don't think Overwatch's vibe would fit into Call of Duty quite as well—especially after Activision promised skins would feel more "authentic to Call of Duty" going forward—I do think it'd be fun to see Overwatch heroes cosplay some of the most iconic Call of Duty characters.
