Rockstar fixes GTA Trilogy's busted nuts and bad spelling in a new patch
A new update fixes numerous bugs, promises better stability, and brings back the cinematic camera.
Rockstar has taken another step toward making the GTA Trilogy less of a hot mess than it was at launch with the release of a new update that promises to improve stability, fix bugs, correct spelling mistakes, and—most importantly—restore sharp angles to Tuff Nuts.
There's a lot wrong with the GTA Trilogy, but the misshapen Tuff Nut signage is one of the most immediately notorious oversights in the remastered version of GTA: San Andreas. What happened, essentially, is that an automated aspect of the remastering process smoothed out the shape of the giant nut fastener atop the Tuff Nuts Donut shop, making it a smooth, round wheel—and nobody in the production process noticed. It was relatively harmless in gameplay terms, but the embarrassment factor? Through the roof.

The 1.03 update comes less than two weeks after Rockstar publicly apologized for the shoddy state of the GTA Trilogy and announced that it was bringing back the classic versions of GTA 3, Vice City, and San Andreas—although only on the Rockstar launcher. Along with a big pile of bug fixes, it also corrects misspellings on textures and signs in the game, eliminates instances of rainfall appearing indoors during cutscenes, and brings back the cinematic camera option that was removed from the remastered versions for some reason.
Alas, there are still some issues that remain.
