It’s the 30th anniversary of the legendary Doom, so it’s only right that PC PowerPlay pays tribute to the game that changed the world in this very special issue!

Enjoy our in-depth feature looking back at the history of Doom, which covers every Doom game ever released, as well as the most notable mods. If you’re a PC gamer you love Doom, and its part in gaming history makes it one of the most influential games of all time.

That’s not all, we went to see Mr John Romero and had a great chat about the old days of iD Software, as well as what he’s up to now, with all the info you need on his new Sigil II Doom campaign – and it looks like something we want to play right now!

In tech we’ve gathered up the best next-gen gaming keyboards. You need the right tools for your gaming, and we’ve done the testing for you.

We have reviews of all the top games right now, including Alan Wake 2, previews of the good stuff on the horizon, plus tech tales to keep you amused.

Ben thinks he’s probably the most experienced PC gaming editor and writer in Australia. After working on the legendary Hyper magazine in the early 1990s, he founded the even-more-legendary PC PowerPlay mag in 1995, and remained as editor for the first five years during that period of explosive PC gaming evolution. After that he founded Atomic magazine in 2000, shifting his focus a bit more towards PC gaming hardware. After a few years as Atomic editor, Ben took over PC Authority magazine, and is now the editor of APC. He likes 48-hour Sins of a Solar Empire binges when he’s not sitting in his sim racing rig manhandling his precious German equipment.
