Last week, I polled our readers (that's you lot) to ask how much RGB lighting festoons your gaming PCs. And I'll be honest, the results come as a bit of a surprise—it turns out that 31% of you opt to keep your rigs dark and moody, with no RGB at all.
I get that times are hard out there, but really? No RGB lighting in the slightest? Fair enough. I've got to say, though, there's something quite cool about a totally stealthed-out mean machine. Or a bit goth, but then I suppose the odd dash of RGB might add to that effect.
How much RGB festoons your gaming PC?
Out of 1,441 poll respondents, here are the results expressed as percentages:

Which is where the second highest proportion of poll respondents voted, with 19% picking the "I'm a tasteful Terrance" option. Interestingly, 18% said they turn off most RGB lighting, but not all. You can blame my own poll-writing skills, I guess, but I suspect there's a significant amount of overlap between those two answers.
Looking at the comments section, I think I can see where many of these voters are coming from. Some of you mentioned your PC has a splash of RGB inside thanks to the odd component, like an LED-lit motherboard or GPU.
Meanwhile, 15% of respondents said they leave their RGB set to whatever it came with out of the box (as someone who's left a rainbow display running on his RAM modules out of sheer ennui, I think I understand), while 10% of you have most of your PC lit with RGB at all times.
And as for the full rainbow effect enjoyers? Well, 104 of you, or 7% of survey respondents, seem to enjoy a good dose of unicorn vomit. Hey, it's not to my tastes—but I like that we seem to have some neon hippies among us. You get your RGB freak on, you happy few. I'll enjoy the photos, although I might suggest some sunglasses to prevent long-term eye damage.
This week, we're asking you what PC tech you want to see on discount over the October Prime Day or Black Friday sales. Given the cost of everything right now, I'll be very interested to see the results. My own wallet is already hiding under the sofa in anticipation. Here's hoping we see a return to great deals on our favourite gaming gear, ey?
