I can already tell that the new, rare-quality Canto SMG will become a fan favourite topside. It's a cheap version of the Bobcat, shredding players and Arc up close. However, getting the Canto blueprint in Arc Raiders is a real pain. In fact, it's harder to get than the legendary Dolabra blueprint, the other gun added in the Flashpoint update.
If you're deathly afraid of the Close Scrutiny map condition, which is packed full of Vaporizers, then you'll be pleased to know that you don't need to take on that challenge to get this blueprint. But that doesn't really make it any easier.
How to get the Canto blueprint in Arc Raiders
You can get the Canto blueprint by looting First Wave Raider Caches during the Hurricane map condition. These First Wave Caches, often referred to as 'hurricane caches', look just like the usual Raider Caches you've likely seen on normal raids—they're small tins buried in the ground that emit a beep to let you know you're close. They tend to spawn on the outskirts of the map, but I recommend using an interactive map to track cache spawns during your matches.
Article continues belowBecause of the strong winds, it can be hard to actually hear the beeping. Plus, during Hurricane matches, your shield will be constantly drained, so you're best off not using one at all, which makes you vulnerable. It's a very annoying map condition…
As with all blueprints, the Canto isn't a guaranteed drop from every hurricane cache. In fact, because of how many different blueprints you could potentially find, it's generally harder to get the Canto than the legendary Dolabra (which you get from looting Assessors). The Canto is only a rare-quality SMG, so hopefully you'll get it sooner rather than later.
To craft the Canto, you will need:
- Gunsmith level 3
- 2x Advanced Mechanical Components
- 5x Magnets
- 3x Medium Gun Parts

As you can see, the Canto isn't terribly expensive to craft, so long as you're not dying and in need of a new one every round. But the Canto is worth it, since it's basically a slightly weaker Bobcat. It rocks a very fast time-to-kill (368 DPS according to the in-game data, just under the Bobcat's 400 DPS), but it has a small magazine and strong recoil. You can increase the Canto's ammo capacity by upgrading it and using magazine attachments, so I'd recommend you do so if you can afford it.

Rory has made the fatal error of playing way too many live service games at once, and somehow still finding time for everything in between. Sure, he’s an expert at Destiny 2, Call of Duty, and more, but at what cost? He’s even sunk 1,000 hours into The Elder Scrolls Online over the years. At least he put all those hours spent grinding challenges to good use over the years as a freelancer and guides editor. In his spare time, he’s also an avid video creator, often breaking down the environmental design of his favourite games. If you can’t track him down, he’s probably lost in a cave with a bunch of dwarves shouting “rock and stone” to no end.
