Debuting last year, Falling Frontier is a game that looks like The Expanse in the best way, with big, chunky, stylish spaceships duking it out amongst the planets of our solar system. It's set to release later this year, and after a few sparse gameplay reveals last year Stutter Fox Studios has dropped a beautiful new trailer for it.
The trailer shows off a lot of lovely spaceship combat, as bigger ships brawl with each other in asteroid belts and gas clouds around our solar system. The action takes place over the moons of Jupiter and Saturn, then hops over to Mars. There's a look at Falling Frontier's ship designer, where hardpoints are customized with weapons like Railguns, Point Defence Cannons, and Flak Cannons. The bits about the PDCs and Flak are pretty neat, mentioning both missiles and strike craft.
The shots of the Martian theater are particularly interesting for a few reasons, specifically that they give us a look at larger strategic movement and logistics in the game. Logistics connections between stations look to transport materials and information between stations. There's also radar ranges involved, which while not particularly detailed looking do seem to be key to understanding when, where, and how enemy threats are moving.
You can find Falling Frontier on Steam and GOG. It's due to release later this year.
