This issue also delivers another top feature, too. The MMO was born on PC, and the platform continues to be the genre's natural home. Every major MMO is playable on PC today in 2026. As such, in this feature, the PC Gamer team gets together to decide on what we believe are the finest MMOs to play today, from juggernaut classics like World of Warcraft and Final Fantasy XIV, through to community-led classics like City of Heroes. If you're looking for a new MMO to get lost in, then this is an essential read.
This issue comes stuffed with a great preview section, too, surfacing some of the incoming games that we're most excited for. Our star preview this issue is on the new sci-fi, third-person action-adventure RPG, The Expanse: Osiris Reborn. And, with the game delivering strong Mass Effect vibes, we discover that this is definitely one to watch going forward. In addition, we also cover Metro 2039, Scriptorium, Road to Vostok, Windrose, Shadow Dungeon, and Gun Store Simulator.
Meanwhile, in terms of reviews, this issue features definitive judgments on Diablo IV: Lord of Hatred, Starship Troopers: Ultimate Bug War!, Xenonauts 2, Pragmata, Mouse: PI For Hire, and Vampire Crawlers, among other games.

Additional content in this month's issue
Our lead preview this issue sees us go hands-on with Owlcat Games' exciting new sci-fi action-adventure RPG, The Expanse: Osiris Reborn. And, with serious Mass Effect vibes including plenty of explosive over-the-shoulder third-person gunplay and story-shaping decisions to make, this is looking like it's going to be a total treat.
Our lead review this issue sees us pass judgment on Diablo IV's climactic Lord of Hatred expansion. Tyler Colp summons plenty of demons, as well as thousands of words, to help confront Mephisto and the denizens of darkness. And he discovers the most refined and fun distillation of the Diablo IV experience to date.
Stardew Valley continues to rule over the cosy games scene. And now, thanks to the excellent Merchant - Become a Shopkeeper mod, gamers can own and run their very own store. We install the mod and get our retail on, before reporting in on our wild profits.
Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast remains one of the finest Star Wars games ever made with, arguably, the most thrilling lightsaber duelling action of any game. As such, this issue we reinstall the old Jedi master to see if it is still strong in the Force, or if it was an overrated dark side imposter all along.
In the second part of our Total War: Warhammer 3 diary, PC Gamer's Matthew Elliott finds out what happens when you try to play this classic grand strategy game as an undead faction that, counterintuitively, you might think, protects humans at all costs, doesn't ally with other undead factions, and remains firmly in their home territory. Madcap shenanigans ensue!
This month's special report digs into the astounding 26-year legacy of ZQuest Classic, a free, open-source game engine and editor dedicated to creating 2D, top-down adventure games. And, as PC Gamer discovers, it's one of the most vibrant fan game factories in business today.
If you spend a lot of time in front of your PC, looking after your body's health is important. As such, this month, we test some of the best ergonomic peripherals on the market today, ranging from Cloud Nine's C959 ErgoTKL split keyboard, to Razer's Pro Click V2 Vertical Edition mouse.
Now Playing: The PC Gamer team writes about their adventures in Samson, Banquet for Fools, Birds Watching, and Rubato.
They're Back: Matthew Elliott re-reviews Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader, Recettear: An Item Shop's Tale, and Offworld Trading Company.
Making of: Rick Lane speaks to Deep Field Games about how it went about constructing its iconic Gate Cascade Research Facility.
