Dying Light 2: Stay Human has finally arrived. Techland's follow-up to open world zombie stomper Dying Light has been in development for years and one of Steam's most wishlisted games since it was announced.
Set 30 years after the original game, Dying Light 2 casts you as Aiden, an earnest loner who wanders the world between ruined cities after the zombie apocalypse. Aiden has arrived in the city of Villedor in hopes of finding his sister, Mia, who he hasn't seen since they were children. Standing in his way is a city full of zombies, several warring factions of humans, and a shadowy figure named Waltz who may hold the key to finding his long lost sister.
We've played Dying Light 2 and reviewed it, and we've got guides, tips, videos, and more down below if you want to get your footing in the zombie parkour sandbox.
What is Dying Light 2's release date?
Dying Light 2 released on February 4, 2022. It was a global launch, so for some parts of the world it launched in the afternoon or evening of February 3.
The released followed several delays. At the Microsoft E3 2019 conference, Dying Light 2 originally had a spring 2020 release window. In January 2020, Techland announced its first delay. A new release window wasn't given, with Techland simply saying it would release before the end of the year. This was later updated to the final release date. The launch also arrived with a Day One patch containing over a thousand fixes.
Where can I read a Dying Light 2 review?
Here's our Dying Light 2 review. The highlights include crunchy combat and satisfying parkour in the impressively big sandbox that is the city of Villedor. The story is a clunker, unfortunately, and very few characters stand out from the collection of gruff soldiers and gloomy survivors. But between story beats there's a big, fun city to explore with plenty of rooftops to kick people off of and tools like a glider and grappling hook to make city travel even more fun.
If you're pressed for time, we've also got a considerably shorter video review you can watch below.

Dying Light 2 DLC
Will there be more added to Dying Light 2 post-launch? Sounds like it. Techland has said it plans to support Dying Light 2 for five years after release, which will include "new stories, locations, in-game events," and more. Techland's website also says there are plans for at least two more paid story DLCs.
