James is stuck in an endless loop, playing the Dark Souls games on repeat until Elden Ring and Silksong set him free. He's a truffle pig for indie horror and weird FPS games too, seeking out games that actively hurt to play. Otherwise he's wandering Austin, identifying mushrooms and doodling grackles.

Every Monday, Build of the week highlights a unique rig from the web's most dedicated PC building communities.

Rebreather takes my breath away, and then gives it back. That’s what breathing is and that’s what Rebreather does—it’s a fascinating tower build from modder Exe with adjustable gills lining the front and top. If the sucker gets too hot, an Arduino chip is programmed to open it up and let the heat dissipate. Whether or not it’s actually efficient, I’m not sure, but it looks like an artifact from a cold, harsh dystopia, so I’m assuming the gills aren’t just frills. Also, if we’re judging books by covers here, I’d guess the person who made a case with such sharp efficiency and edges, something right out of Bladerunner, is probably an android, programmed with expertise.

For more pictures and information on Rebreather, check out the official build log.

Rebreather components:

They’re not listed out in writing, so all I have to go on are some pictures where the CPU and RAM are too obscured by light to make out. I messaged Exe to get more details, and I’ll update if they roll in.
