Time was, you used to have to go places to see videogame events. I've been through it myself—a sweltering period in Los Angeles where I spent approximately $6,000 on Ubers and lived off Famous Amos cookies from the hotel vending machine.

But it's the 21st century, and you don't have to deal with all that. When the Future Games Show Summer Showcase airs from LA this June 6 at 12 noon PT / 3 pm ET / 8 pm BST, you'll be able to catch over 40 upcoming games—and 10 world premieres—all from the comfort of your home. Or elsewhere; there's nothing stopping you from going to LA to watch it on your iPad or something, I suppose.

Anyway, things are all lined up for a doozy of a show presented by Alex Wilton Regan (who you've heard/will hear in Tomb Raider, Cyberpunk 2077, Dragon Age, and a whole lot else) and Troy Baker (Indiana Jones, The Last of Us, and most importantly Persona 4's Kanji Tatsumi).

I am under a strict oath of secrecy when it comes to what's on-show at the event, but I can tell you a few of the things that have been pre-revealed. You're gonna see stuff from Halloween: The Game, Wardogs, Aniimo, Don't Fret, The Pines, Clive Barker's Hellraiser: Revival, and The Lift (which I've checked out and enjoyed before). You'll also get a big dollop of gameplay from Exodus, the upcoming sci-fi RPG from a bunch of former Mass Effect devs.

So if you fancy tuning in—which, I assure you, you do—you'll be able to find The Future Games Show Summer Showcase on Twitch, YouTube, and TikTok on (that date again) June 6 at 12 noon PT / 3 pm ET / 8 pm BST. Be there or, well, don't. You can watch it from anywhere, as we established earlier.

One of Josh's first memories is of playing Quake 2 on the family computer when he was much too young to be doing that, and he's been irreparably game-brained ever since. His writing has been featured in Vice, Fanbyte, and the Financial Times. He'll play pretty much anything, and has written far too much on everything from visual novels to Assassin's Creed. His most profound loves are for CRPGs, immersive sims, and any game whose ambition outstrips its budget. He thinks you're all far too mean about Deus Ex: Invisible War.
