Cozy, solarpunk MMO Loftia is offering players the opportunity to dive into a free demo as part of Steam Next Fest. So, from October 19 - October 26, you'll be able to get a feel of what this laid-back life sim is all about and begin your new life exploring a world high in the sky.

The demo features the opening story of Loftia, giving you plenty of opportunity to familiarise yourself with your new world, alongside meeting some of the charming NPCs that live in Loftia City. You'll also get a chance to explore the house customisation in your shared neighbourhood, and play some social minigames before diving into things like farming, adventuring, finding resources, and contributing towards world projects, where everyone works together towards shared goals that impact the world of Loftia.

This will give you a real sense of what to expect from Loftia when it launches into early access in November. And, you'll even be able to experience the demo in a massively multiplayer world, with all of your friends for the ultimate cozy adventure. If you need a break from the combat-focused, tense and grindy nature of other MMOs, then Loftia's more community-focused experience might just be that breath of fresh air you’ve been looking for.

Loftia is all about hanging out with your pals, slowing down, and really connecting with one another. As you explore and complete quests and community projects, the world will grow over time, so there's no need to rush to tick off tasks from NPCs, venture across the entire world, or plant the optimal crops to get as much money as possible before the seasons change.

Instead, you can focus on exploring all the floating islands of Loftia in your own time, while mastering farming techniques like hydroponics, and trellis farming, and creating renewable energy generated from the different weather conditions you'll encounter. It's certainly a change of pace from the till soil, plant seeds, water plant, harvest, routine we're used to, but it's a welcomed one.

Outside of farming and exploring, Loftia will also feature plenty of adventures for you and your friends to embark on. These will feature co-operative puzzle-platform elements to keep you on your toes, and are inspired by games like It Takes Two and Fall Guys.

And, although it's not featured in the demo, what cozy game isn't complete without a little companion? Luckily, Loftia has you covered in this regard too. Eventually, you'll be able to rescue and adopt a variety of animal companions to join you as you play, including dogs, cats, birds, capybaras, and turtles. Which, yes, you can dress up too. If that's not enough to convince you to sign back in and keep exploring during Early Access, what is?

Once you've wrapped up with the demo, you can wishlist Loftia on Steam ahead of its launch into Early Access on November 3. You'll only be able to create a single character during the demo, but the name you give yourself will carry into Early Access given you log in between November 3 and February 3. As an added bonus, if you get your friends to join the demo, you'll earn a Demo Banner, alongside two adorable furniture items to decorate your house with in November.
