Another player has swiped a colossal discount on GTA 6, paying just $2 thanks to a forgotten Best Buy card
Don't forget to check for pennies under the couch cushions.
We're in the endgame now for Grand Theft Auto 6, and with just 139 days to go players are beginning to scrimp and save for its anticipated release—if they haven't pre-ordered the standard or controversial ultimate edition already. We've seen some resourceful players utilise Bing and Microsoft Rewards to get an impressive discount, but that's not the only way you can get some dollars off the price.
Another fortunate gamer managed to save $77.87 for their pre-order, cutting the price of GTA 6's standard edition from $79.99 down to just $2.12, all thanks to cash back on Best Buy.
Got my pre-order for $2 from r/GTA6
"Upgraded to the PS5 Pro a few months ago just to make sure my setup was ready for launch," tangyredapple explains. "Totally forgot I used my Best Buy card for the console and racked up a ton of cash back from it.
"I checked my account today when the pre-orders went live, stacked my reward certificates with a 10% off coupon, and walked away paying less than three bucks for the game. Just a heads up to check your Best Buy reward points or other cash back! If you bought a console recently to prep for the game, you might basically have this paid for already. See y'all in Vice City."
For those who are curious as to why they didn't splurge out the extra $20 for the ultimate edition, physical pre-orders (sans the disc, rip) are only available for the standard edition. But you can subsequently pay for the upgrade after the fact.
These kinds of money saving tricks may sound fairly obvious, but it clearly pays to pay attention and check out discounts wherever possible. GTA 6 isn't as expensive as I thought it would be, although that's a low bar, but it's still a hefty price if you want to be able to access all the content there is. So my advice would be to check out Microsoft Rewards, use Bing (I know, I'm sorry), and keep an eye out for any other way you could get some money off, every little helps.
