InXile's kickstarted follow-up to the lauded Planescape Torment will shrug off the original's D&D rule framework and setting to tread a thematically similar path through the world of Numanera, created by RPG developer Monte Cook. There's a good depth of experience and talent in the team, including Fallout exec producer Brian Fargo. The Kickstarter drive to fund the game earned so much money ($4.2 million) that Obsidian's Chris Avellone has agreed to lend a hand. Early environment art looks lovely enough, but there's plenty more to do before 2014 release date, and InXile are working on Wasteland 2 as well.
