Fortnite absolutely knocked it outta the park with its The Simpsons mini season at the end of 2025—thanks to a stellar Springfield map absolutely chock-full of fun references and little details, and plenty of appropriately cartoonish antics to boot. It was a damn good season—so good in fact that we declared it to be "one of the best in ages".

If that's got you yearning for a return to Springfield—or wondering why on earth you missed out in the first place—worry not. Fortnite's bringing The Simpsons back in its action-packed Reload mode with a revamped Springfield, all the good loot from its first run, and… wait, is that John Wick?

Here's what you can expect from Fortnite Reload x The Simpsons

Even if you played The Simpsons mini season last year, there's plenty of reason to return to Springfield in Fortnite Reload. For starters, there's a new POI called The Confidential. That'll be the bar that showed up in an episode of The Simpsons, which in itself is a cheeky little parody of The Continental from the John Wick movies. Now his appearance is making sense, right?

It's not just your average Fortnite POI, though. While inside the walls of The Confidential, all the regular rules of the game are put aside. You'll gain passive healing while inside, and you'll be expected to keep your weapons and fists away from any other players. You'll even be able to access proximity chat while inside, for a nice bit of banter with your fellow (temporary) pacifists.

But if you disrespect the ways of The Confidential and attack another player, you'll immediately become excommunicado. And with it, a big ol' target on your back. To account for having 49 other players turning on you, your excommunicado status will grant you unlimited stamina and faster reload speeds. For everyone chasing after you, they'll net a tidy 1500 gold and improved loot for the pleasure of eliminating you.

And like I said earlier, John Wick himself is making an appearance this time. An NPC will wait for you on Starter Island, and completing Reload quests while owning the Battle Pass will net you a very thematic Simpsonified John Wick. Plus, there's an adorable John Wick Sprite that you can nab by eliminating someone carrying it, winning a match, or finding one on the map. He is equal parts grumpy and cute, and as a bonus can reveal nearby enemies for a short time after knocking down or eliminating an opponent.

As for loot, all of the good stuff from The Simpsons mini season is here: Krusty's Mr. Blasty, Blinky Fish, Super Squishee, and more. It's stuff that's been sorely missed since Springfield's map went away, so getting it back in Fortnite Reload is excellent news.

It is super exciting to see one of Fortnite's best seasons—thematically, loot pool-wise, and just old school classic fun-wise—making a triumphant return. It's bound to be a great reunion for those of us lucky enough to experience it the first time around, and the perfect opportunity for those of you who missed out to dive in and see why we all loved it so darn much.

Springfield is currently the only map in the Fortnite Reload rotation until August 3, after which it'll be joined by Elite Stronghold and Slurp Rush. So the sooner you get in and get playing, the better.
