During Blood of Dawnwalker's main prologue quest, Withering Away, you'll have to prepare Anca's recipe into a medicine for your mother's anxiety, helping her overcome her fear to attend the Blood Mass that evening. Anca gives you a page of instructions to follow, but the tricksy game won't let you view them while making the medicine.
This means you're up a creek if you haven't already memorised them, and don't want to potentially load a save in the distant past just to read a sheet of paper. I'll include the instructions below, along with the friendly advice that it is very important that you make this medicine correctly.
How to prepare Anca's recipe in Blood of Dawnwalker
Once you arrive back at the house, your father will ask you to prepare the medicine for your mother. Unfortunately, you can't read the recipe at this point, so you have to have it memorised, or just follow the instructions below:
- Choose the 'Use hot water' option
- Choose the 'Add three spoonfuls of herbs' option
This follows Anca's instructions that she gave you, and will help make the correct medicine for Esme so she can have a slightly more relaxing time during the not-at-all terrifying Blood Mass that's occurring in the evening.
In case you're curious, unlike force-feeding Esme, messing up the recipe does have extremely poor consequences. I won't spoil exactly what happens, but safe to say, you'll want to ensure you get Esme the medicine she needs and that you brew it correctly. Or not. Up to you.
