Obsidian has released the latest Kickstarter backer video for its forthcoming fantasy role-player Pillars of Eternity 2. Within, you'll find details on new NPC animations, animancy cats and, um, projectile vomiting pirates.
As told by the game's producer Katrina Garsten, all races have bespoke ship steering animations—the cutest of which is easily the Orlans. Less adorable is the game's ensemble of bombs, of which there are ten, each with their own visual details and effects.
On the "dancing and barfing" front, Garsten says: "When you're a pirate in Eora, there's lot of places to party. Along with that partying came several new animations. People can now play the piano, dance to the music, and fall on the floor after partying too hard. And, if someone has too much to drink, they projectile vomit." Lovely.
Have a gander at the new backer video:
Around the 2.20 mark there, you'll learn about animancy cat—a cat kept alive through the "unnatural sciences" and modelled on Josh Sawyer's real life pet feline Sesame.
Pillars of Eternity 2 is due at some point next year. More information can be found via the game's site.
