Black Friday graphics card deals have been scarce for Aussies, but I've just found 5 bargains worth writing home for
Some proper big savings are going down on a whole lot of cards covering budget to high-end
All week long I've been scouring the web for interesting graphics card deals, but there's been nary a bargain to be found.
Until today, when everything went mental. Once again it's Mwave that's hitting it hard, with a plethora of cards covering budget to extreme, though I've found that most of the best deals sit firmly in the mid-range. 5050 through to 5080 cards are plentiful here, as are AMD 9060 and 9070 cards. There's even a couple of stand-out RTX 5090 cards going for a big discount.
Note all these Mwave deals expire on December 5th, or when they run out.
You could go for the Sapphire Radeon RX 9060 XT PULSE GAMING OC 16GB, at AU$589, down from AU$649, and here's a review Tom's did of that card, giving it 4 stars. Or go with Nvidia and spend a little more on this ASUS GeForce RTX 5060 Ti Dual OC 16GB, it's AU$769, down from AU$899. Both are excellent 16GB options.
Stepping up a little I found a great discount on an XFX AMD Radeon RX 9070XT. Usually AU$1,249, it's going for AU$989.
Even higher up in performance, but nicely cheaper than its usual outrageous price is the Gigabyte GeForce RTX 5080 WINDFORCE. These are usually AU$2,099, but this sale has them down to AU$1,799. That's pretty good for an RTX 5080.
At the top of the stack is the terrifying expensive RTX 5090, but right now this Gigabyte GeForce RTX 5090 WINDFORCE OC 32GB is AU$800 off, going for AU$4,699.
And there's plenty more, have a browse of Mwave's graphics card Black Friday deals pages, it's frankly amazing there's so much there at these discounts.
Be the king of the hill and save AU$800 to get there. This RTX 5090 is well cooled and factory overclocked with a Core Clock of 2467MHz. It's not fancy looking but it'll deliver where it matters.
Sapphire is an AMD stalwart, with its cards engineered to get the most from AMD's GPUs. Here's its RX 9060 XT, which is discounted from AU$649 to AU$589 until Dec 5th (or when Mwave runs out). Our Dave James reckons the 9060 XT is one of the best GPUs at the moment.
The Nvidia RTX 5060 Ti is shaping up to be the classic GPU of this generation, with 16GB of memory and base performance up to 20% better than last-gen's 4060 Ti. This good looking white Asus will do you right at AU$769, which is better than the usual AU$899.
21% off for a graphics card isn't to be sneezed at. AU$989 for a 9070XT is something to think about. AMD's 9070XT gives strong performance and the price, especially now, makes it very appealing. XFX often come in cheaper than the bigger names, but in our experience the quality and reliability isn't compromised.
This is an especially good price for a 5080, which is the GPU to have if you like max detail and running at a high resolution. Gigabyte's card has good cooling and a non-offensive design.
