Defend your farm from a gaze of raccoons in this charming tower defense roguelite, out tomorrow
Please don't make me fight the trash pandas, I love them.
Never say I'm biased or I don't have an open mind, because here I am, telling you about a videogame where raccoons—my favourite animal on this Earth—are the enemy. Heartbreaking, I know. In The Rabbit Haul, the crafty little scamps are pestering a bunny named Sprout, so they decide to turn their garden into a warzone that can keep the mischievous Trash Panda Posse at bay.
Why does Sprout need to keep the raccoons away? Well, they kind of destroyed the town. I'm sure they didn't mean to and were just looking for snacks. Still, one has to defend one's home, so Sprout gets to planting deadly organic weaponry during the day and fighting off the hordes of ringtails at night. Sprout gets in on the action themselves, so you won't just be passively watching your plants do all the hard work.
Wishlist The Rabbit Haul on Steam
Release date: September 21, 2026
The Rabbit Haul blends tower defense with farming sim and roguelite mechanics and dresses the whole experience up with an adorable 2D art style. It's out tomorrow, and there's already a demo you can try out on Steam.
The Rabbit Haul feels a bit like plants versus raccoons, only instead of pure tower defense, you actually have to tend to your garden to grow your organic weaponry. You prepare the flora in a grid, and can choose to either overwhelm your foes with unimaginable force or try to outsmart them with clever plant synergies. You'll have to improvise, adapt, and overcome, because the waves of raccoons get stronger each night, and if they're successful, they'll trash your garden and steal away your resources.
The Rabbit Haul is a roguelite, so you'll be rebuilding Sprout's town between runs. Restore shops, fix up homes, and welcome new characters into the cosy little hamlet, and unlock upgrades that'll help you in future attempts. And no farming sim would be complete without some dress up options, so rest assured, you can put Sprout in lots of adorable little outfits.
