There’s a lot of great fighting games out there and they each have their own unique attributes. Some offer incredible graphics, others draw from iconic characters everyone knows and loves, and others are just household names that have been around for generations.

But it’s rare to come across one quite like this adorable 2D fighting game from Modus Games. Them’s Fightin’ Herds, more lovingly known as TFH, is all about bringing something new to the world of fighting games by pitting adorable cartoon animals against each other in a magical fight to the end.

Featuring a roster of characters designed by acclaimed cartoon producer Lauren Faust and a simple four-button control scheme, TFH is easy to pick up and learn yet challenging to master. Plus, there is an inventive story mode where players can learn the basics, meet the characters, and battle through shadowy predators that roam the 2D pixel world.

The game has built a pretty avid community of fans which players can interact with and battle to hone their skills.

And today the game is getting even better with the release of the 3.0 update which changes the character balance and adds brand new level 3 cinematic super attacks. It also brings the first paid DLC character, a powerful Gotani pirate goat named Shanty, to the base game so anyone who already owns or buys TFH gets access to her for free.

Oh, and the 3.0 update is completely free as well.

Whether you’re new to TFH or an avid fan who’s ready for more, check out the game’s Steam page for more and to start playing the new 3.0 version now.
