Titanfall may feature NPC monsters, according to official art book

Ian Birnbaum at

A look inside the new Art of Titanfall book, received today by PC Gamer, reveals that the finished game may include NPC animals that add to the chaos of the battlefield. Some animals “will walk or fly around levels harmlessly until people interfere. Others will attack when you just stare at them.” Our own Cory Banks snapped a few photos of the creature concept art.

Far Cry 3 concept art shows theme parks, tourist resorts and other rejected ideas

Rook Island: home of caves, dilapidated buildings, caves, bars that can withstand a barrage of RPG fire directed at them by an angry me after a particularly unsuccessful poker game, caves, temples and caves. Far Cry 3's island is beautiful, to be sure, but it's not the most wildly varied of environments. This collection of early concept art shows a much wider selection of themes and locations. There's the familiar rusted shipwrecks and wooden shacks, but also ideas that would mark a very different tone than the game's final setting.

Into The Pixel 2011 collects incredible works of gaming art

Concept art is often beautiful, but even with a growing number of art books being bundled with collector's editions, it's just as often work that will never be seen by anyone outside of a game's development team. The Into The Pixel collection tries to change that. Organised by the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences and the Entertainment Software Association, each year it selects some of the best pieces of gaming art, whatever the reason for its creation.

The 17 new pieces to be displayed at this year's E3 have just been released, and I've posted the PC-relevant images below, including work from Bioshock Infinite, Mass Effect, Dragon Age 2, Alien Swarm and the unreleased Drawn 3. So pretty.
