    Unhappy PC Gamer age restricted??

Just tried to buy this latest issue of PC Gamer in my local ASDA and was told I had to be over 18? Is this a new thing or is this just ASDA being silly?

Never heard of this - my stepsons used to fetch me my copy from the local Spar no problems.
    Is the digital version?

the mag has actually had a 18 rating (at least in the UK) for several years now, chances are up until this point you got served by people who didn't care.

    Lame!
I just went into WHSmiths where I've been buying PCG for months on end and suddenly I can't buy it, I'm 17 and the worst I've seen in PCG is the very rare f-bomb. (Like, 1 per issue and that's being generous).

It's a bit ludicrous and over-sensitive, when I'm 17 I've seen and heard things -far- worse in my own home than in an issue of PCG. o-O

it has most likely been pushed this time as PEGI has just come in and they are really pushing the "don't sell to people under age" thingy as they have added a prison sentence to it for the person selling the goods.

Hmmm - okay, at least it's not just me. just confused me as the magazine itself had no age restriction on it, there till actually asked whether I was over 25 (?!), they were completely clueless so just assumed it was 18, I'd always thought it was 16 for magazines and even then in 'extreme' circumstances.
    Ah well, thanks all

I always remember there being an age restriction on the mag, just go to a small independent news agents and buy it from there, in my experience they don't care about the age rating.

i dont see why the 18 rating, no lober has a demo disk, so no restricted content. and its not like its influential. you dont have to be over a certain age to buy a car magazine, hell i think you can be as young as 15 to Buy a Nuts magazine!
