Didn't really like how it went all super hero at the end, but it's Del Torro's next film so every reason to be hopeful! Looked pretty good overall.

Not clued in on the Del Toro guy, can't say I have ever seen any of films. But I seen the trailer and was like Transformers v Godzilla. I can't see how it can fail. If they can make an entertaining film about the Battleships board game this must be a sure thing.

For about 30 seconds I thought this would be Lovecraft, a little disappointed now.

It looks like arse. Well, it looks great - like a spectacularly vapid graphics showcase where you just point your face in the direction of the movie and drool into your popcorn while occasionally going "Coool." The kind of movie where you've forgotten the sparse framework of a plot upon which the billion-dollar tech demo is built as soon as the credits roll, but you remember there were loud noises and explosions so you assume you enjoyed it.
On the bright side it doesn't have that smug weasel kid from Even Stevens as the protagonist so bonus points on that front.

They couldn't tho could they? That film was the very worst film I've seen in several years.

That and this one called 'RedTails' about a bunch of n-word pilots in the second world war. It's got a scene with Cuba Goodings smoking a pipe, simply has to be seen to be believed.

Looks like another dumb as shit action movie - pretty much what I've come to expect from hollywood these days, lowest common denominator and all that.

When is Del Torro going to get back to making masterpieces like Pan's Labyrinth instead of throwaway trash like this ?

It's del torro, there has to be more to this than meets the eyes. I'll suspend my default cynicism for a while on this, methinks.
