Default Having saves to import to ME3: Does it matter?

I've played through ME and ME2 a few times each but my saves are gone.

I restarted a game of ME to get some saves for when I eventually play ME3, but I just jumped on that cheap deal from GMG and now I have ME3.

Do the saves make a big difference, or can I just go ahead and play 3 without missing out on stuff?

You won't "miss out" per se on any stuff, but it's certainly a series that has a heck of a lot more impact if you do play with your previous saves, because for the most part it becomes about your Shepard rather than anyone elses.

just get a save the most like yours from there.

just need to create the correct save folders and ME3 should find it.

while not making much difference to the ending, some characters may be in it or be replaced with others. depends how much you care about them from the first 2 i guess.

the saves do help and flesh out the story quite a bit in some cases. For example helping a faction or someone surviving at the end of ME2 will influence and help you in the final battle in ME3. IE: Getting the 10000 you need to get the best ending. I can certainly see getting the ME2 DLC and completing it in a satisfactory level will benefit you.

Plus its your personal adventure and it will make it a more personal experience. Some more then others, but its still a nice touch and adds depth to the game.

It feels more personal with your own saves. So yeah, saves DO matter.

I guess I'll replay 1&2 before starting three then. Why the hell didn't I back up my saves? I knew I would play ME3 eventually.

It's not perfect, but you could use the Gibbed's save game editor for ME2 - create a Shepard that looks like yours then edit the save to reflect your choices. (Then check the "Finished the Fight" flag and import into ME3.

    I think I will look into a pre-save. I don't feel like waiting 2 or 3 weeks to play ME3.

I'm sure I'll play the trilogy again sometime anyway.
