    Someone already gave you advice, and it's the correct advice. Make sure you have the x64 version of Java installed if your system is 64-bit. Minecraft detects that you have 4GB+ of RAM, and thinks it can use the higher register values, but suddenly discovers it can't access them because you're using 32-bit Java (which can't access all of your RAM, due to the nature of 32-bit applications).

    Yep, 64-bit version fixed everything for me. didn;t even need to uninstall the original version.

    Just do it. So easy.
