Default ATI graphics?

I've just got wurm, and it's great, however I seem to have a perculier graphics problem, I have seen screenshots of the game, and it's obviously no crysis but it looks vibrant and has personality, I compare these to my own game and they put it to shame, my textures are all just slabs of one colour, everything in the distance is oddly spaced out and it just looks drab in general even on maximum settings (aside from pretty trees which caused all the trees to be made of angry blockey squarey bits. The issue is almost certainly not my rig as it's a very capable machine unless it's some form of compatibility issue with my HD4870 or my Phenom 965. I'm not expecting anyone to be able to help with this issue but if any assistance can be given it would be much appreciated.

    Hi, TheClown24.

I found this thread in the official bugs sub-forum which seems to follow what you are describing. It seems to be an issue with the newer ATI drivers, someone has posted a workaround further on in the thread which might help. Best of luck.

After using some annoying workaround, if wurm doesn't support the latest drivers, then I won't support wurm.
