Rockstar's April Fools prank covers GTA Online and Red Dead Online in a blanket of snow

If you log into either GTA Online or Red Dead Online today, you'll be met with a fresh coat of snow on the ground. 'But it's April,' you might think, 'and like many people I don't associate April with snow!' Ah, but it's April 1st. We've been hoodwinked.

Alright, so it's not the wildest April Fools Day joke ever, but it does mean the temporary return of snowball fights in GTA Online. Snowballs count as an inventory item, by the way, so you can stockpile them and use them in a heist if you want to try an ultra difficult snowball-only run.

The snow in Red Dead Online has no practical applications, but it adds to the majesty of the wilderness, as you can see from Hazard's video below. We're not sure if the snow will stick around after April Fools Day, so if you want to enjoy the freshly glistening mountains, you might want to hop in today.
