The Warzone Last Hours of Verdansk event is almost here, bidding a fond farewell to Season 6, and the battlefield where we've been duking it out this past year. But the end of Verdansk is also about new beginnings, as we get ready for the arrival of the new Warzone map, Caldera, and kick off Warzone Pacific Season 1.

As Call of Duty: Vanguard starts to fully integrate with the battle royale, there's plenty to get exicted for, with new weapons, playlists, and a fresh map to explore. But first, it's time to say an explosive goodbye to Verdansk. Though the event was initially delayed, it's set to go live on December 6, and run through to December 7.

In this brief guide, there's everything you need to know about the Warzone Last Hours of Verdansk event, including start times, how to join, and some speculation about what might happen in the event itself.

When is the Warzone Last Hours of Verdansk start time?

The Warzone Last Hours of Verdansk start time is 10am PT (1pm EST, 6pm GMT) on December 6, and will run through to December 7, according to Raven Software's Trello board. The new Caldera map is arriving on December 9—or 24 hours earlier if you own Vanguard—so these dates would tie in with the beginning of Warzone Pacific Season 1.

How to take part in the Warzone Last Hours of Verdansk event

As with previous events—like when the map got nuked—there should be a specific playlist for the Last Hours of Verdansk event that appears around the start time. It might make sense to log in a little earlier before if you want to snag yourself a place, as it's likely that they'll be some hefty server queues when it goes live.

Still, as the Last Hours of Verdansk event appears to be spread over a couple of days, it should be a much smoother experience than the nuke event. But considering that an entirely new map is on the cards this time around—rather than changes to an old one—there's potentially going to be even more interest than before.

So what can we expect from the Last Hours of Verdansk event? Well, here's the thing—other than the suggestion that it's a limited-time event, no details have been released on what it will entail. A recent blog post states, "Bombs away – see what happens to Verdansk before Warzone goes dark to prepare for Caldera and Season One." That said, we can go back and look at previous Warzone events to get an idea of what we could expect.

We know that this event will help usher in the new Caldera map, so we could be in for something as catastrophic as the end-of-Season 2 nuke drop. That incident saw the original map transform into Verdansk '84 and its popularity caused several issues and server queues. Meanwhile, the Black Ops – Cold War reveal had its own limited-time operation with the Know Your History mission, which had players racing to various points on the map for different objectives. So it's possible we may see something similar today.
