James is stuck in an endless loop, playing the Dark Souls games on repeat until Elden Ring and Silksong set him free. He's a truffle pig for indie horror and weird FPS games too, seeking out games that actively hurt to play. Otherwise he's wandering Austin, identifying mushrooms and doodling grackles.

Every Monday, Build of the week highlights a unique rig from the web's most dedicated PC building communities.

The RedForce 2 comes from 50mm Case Mods, who specializes in, well, take a guess. It was built over a single weekend alongside other builders prepping for the Computex show starting at the end of May. The short time in which the RedForce 2 came to be speaks to the hands that put it together, especially due to the limited space for expression and storage for decent components. The modder describes the genesis of RedForce 2 as fairly straightforward:

“I took the CoolForce 2 to create a black and red themed mod. The color scheme was chosen because of the used hardware.” Presumably,  because the hardware showed use, the stark contrast between the colors was sharp enough to distract from any normal wear and tear. He continues, “To make the whole thing more unique I searched for a pattern that now adorns the windows as well as other covers in and outside the case.”

The components weren't listed anywhere explicity, but there is a low-res photo of the parts in a pile on the 50mm Case Mods Facebook page. See if you can decipher what's inside:
