I was surprised just how good this compact PC case is, considering its low price, and now it's only £30 for Black Friday

Thermaltake S100 TG: was £39.98 now £29.99 at Scan

A compact PC case, available in both white and black, the S100 TG offers a smart little home for your next gaming PC. Just note you'll need to use a Micro-ATX motherboard with it, as it won't fit a larger ATX model.

If you're shopping around for a new home for your gaming PC, or looking to build a brand new rig, I've spotted a seriously good deal for you. It's a case I reviewed earlier this year and liked a lot, considering its budget-friendly price tag. Now it's even more affordable.

It's the Thermaltake S100 TG. Now down to £30 over at Scan. It's a compact case that will fit up to a Micro-ATX-sized motherboard and is available in white or black. I've used the white version and come away pretty impressed with what it offers for the money—it cuts corners, but nowhere too important. In fact, it's currently our pick for the best compact budget PC case.

You can read my Thermaltake S100 TG review for more, but here's a basic breakdown.

You get one fan in the case, a basic 120 mm model from Thermaltake. That's pre-installed in the rear of the machine. You'll have to source some fans for the front, which has space for 3x 120 mm, but you can buy a few Arctic P12 fans for pretty cheap these days—£5 a pop—and again, I've used these and recommend them as the best budget PC fans going. Buy two and you're essentially buying the case at full price with two extra fans ready to go. Not bad at all. Buy three and you're sorted.

The case itself is a uniform white colour. That might sound like a given, but uniformity can be an issue on some white PC parts, especially budget ones. That's not the case here, though; it's clean. And you can gaze into its interior through the included tempered glass side panel.

The case offers plenty of room for an air cooler, as I used for my test build, but you could opt for a 280 or 240 mm radiator if required. The way the front of the case is designed doesn't leave much space for a radiator and fans up front, however, so a 360 mm isn't possible.

The rear expansion slot covers are non-reusable. Once you pry them off, they're gone for good, but that's pretty normal on budget PC cases. Other than that, my only other major complaint is the lack of cable management in the rear. You'll have to make good use of zip-ties.

Otherwise, it's a pretty solid case. Especially for the money. This is an early Black Friday deal, but we'll soon have the full sweep of deals going live. If you're interested, we'll be covering everything over on our Black Friday PC gaming deals page.
