This year’s VGX (which, in case you’re confused, is a rebranding of Spike’s Video Game awards) should be even more exciting than usual. Now that the release armageddon that is November is over, it's time for everyone to announce some new projects. The next week or so will be bustling with new announcements from Bioware, Epic and THQ, and we'll get our first look at Bioshock Infinite for a while at this weekend's Spike TV Video Game Awards ceremony.

First up, Bioware. They've been busy teasing a new game from a new studio in the run up to Saturday's show, with a teaser image and a tiny trailer clip. With EA registering a number of Command & Conquer domain names recently, there's speculation that a new C&C may be revealed.

New Bioware game teased. Could it be a new Command & Conquer?

A new trailer for the Spike TV Video Game Awards shows the briefest blip of the new Bioware game. It's set to be announced at the show, and is in development at a new studio.

The clip shows a tank column blowing apart a procession of trucks, and is the only thing the public has seen of the game outside of this image.

There's only one thing for it. Time to don the hat of speculation, stroke the beard of unknowing and take some stabs in the dark. What could it be? There are some who think it could be a new Command &; Conquer, others say it might be a new Mercenaries game. We'll know for sure when it's fully revealed at the VGAs on December 10.

Gamerfitnation have spotted the list of Spike VGA awards nominations and, as ever, there's are some unusual decisions. Minecraft grabs a nominations for PC game of the year while indie favourite Bastion picked up a surprising five nominations, meanwhile Deus Ex: Human Revolution misses out on a nomination for Game of the Year and, most bizarrely of all, Battlefield 3 isn't nominated for Best Graphics.

The Spike VGA awards will take place on the 10th of December, and will see the unveiling of a new Bioware game (pictured above). Check inside for a breakdown of the relevant nominations:
