It’s time to give Danish developer Full Control a pat on the back as their latest game, Jagged Alliance: Flashback, has gotten over the initial $350,000 hump with a final tally of $368,614—just hours before their Kickstarter ended.
Museums like to use the phrase "frozen in time" to describe dinosaur bones and stuffed dead things, but in the case of Jagged Alliance: Flashback, the term's not a euphemism from "dead." Far from it! The gang behind the still-running Kickstarter have released what they call a "gameplay scene"—imagine you've hit a pause button mid-battle, enabling you to explore the scene without fear of getting pulverized. And if movement's not your thing, there are some handy screenshots available as well.
The team behind the upcoming Warhammer 40K: Space Hulk game adaptation has announced another hammer and sickle they have in the fire. Namely, they're looking to bring back an old school turn-based strategy franchise with Jagged Alliance: Flashback. The pitch proclaims "it's not a reboot, it's a reset!" We're not entirely sure what the distinction is between the two, but we're also not opposed to a new single-player experience for a well-regarded PC game series that hasn't seen one in a while.
Per the cool cats at Eurogamer, Danish studio Full Control has announced that the company has signed a licensing agreement with bitComposer Games to develop and publish a new (hooray), turn-based (hooray), multiplatform (hmm) game in the Jagged Alliance franchise.
