An All-New The Seven Deadly Sins Story
Set between the events of The Seven Deadly Sins anime and its successor, Four Knights of the Apocalypse, The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin is an original multiverse story where time and space are twisted by the Book of Stars. Both new and returning heroes are at the heart of this story, so fans can look forward to seeing their favorite characters alongside new potential favorites unique to this game.
The new trailer, narrated by the Japanese voice actor of Meliodas from the anime, gives players a sneak peek at the game's richly detailed open world, hero-swapping combat, and relaxing leisure activities.
Explore an Expansive Anime-Inspired Open-World
The world of Britannia is vast and varied, and The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin enables players to explore with freedom. Each character's abilities can be used to navigate the open world in different ways. Protagonist Tristan can move objects around, for example; since each hero has unique skills, choosing the right character for given situations will allow players to complete quests more efficiently.
There's a lot to see in Britannia, and exploration isn't confined to ground level. Flying mounts like the Manta Hawk allow players to quickly travel around the map, and they can also dive deep underwater in search of sunken treasure.
Exploration can lead players to unique activities outside of the main story as well. Fishing, cooking, mining, and woodcutting are just some of the optional open-world activities featured in The Seven Deadly Sins: Origins, so players are truly free to pursue their own path.
All of this is powered by Unreal Engine 5, so the distinct art style is beautifully recreated in the highest fidelity. It's not just the textures, either. Everything, from the battle animations to the dynamic lighting of the day-and-night cycle, aims to be as faithful to the anime as possible.
Free-form, hero-swapping combat
The emphasis on freedom doesn't just apply to the open world, though. Britannia is home to plenty of monsters, and that's where The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin's fast-paced combat system comes into play.
Combat in The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin is fluid and dynamic. Players can swap between four heroes during battles, and each hero can be armed with one of three weapon types. Animations and abilities will change depending on a character's equipment, and heroes can combine their skills to create powerful special effects like fiery tornadoes.
By combining different heroes and weapons, players can create their own unique combat styles suited to any situation. Being prepared for different scenarios is important, too, since monsters' behavior will change depending on the time of day and climate. For example, the Werebear can be seen carrying torches and dozing off after the sun sets.
