Shaun Prescott at

Announced back in March, the SW:TOR Galactic Strongholds expansion will introduce player housing to the space opera MMO. While the expansion's Early Access was recently delayed until August, a new BioWare update provides some nitty-gritty on how the free expansion will work and all the fancy things you'll be able to do with your virtual digs.

Battlefield 4 Dragon's Teeth expansion adds new maps, game mode, floating eatery

Tom Sykes at

In another, more generous age, Battlefield Hardline might have taken the form of an expansion or even a mod - from our impressions of the beta, it doesn't exactly feel like its own game. We don't live in the late '90s, however - and until I perfect my time-travelling Ford Mondeo, we never will - so let's focus on Battlefield 4's actual DLC. Dragon's Teeth is the latest, and EA have spilled a few new details. Details like "it contains four multiplayer maps" and "there are five new weapons" and "you can have it two weeks early if you pony up for Battlefield 4 Premium". (They didn't use the word 'pony', but you get the idea.)

World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor alpha patch notes preview multiple class changes

Omri Petitte at

Blizzard's powerful Text Wall spell hit the Warlords of Draenor website late last week, conjuring a tome-sized post previewing planned class, ability, and content updates for the alpha version of World of Warcraft's fifth expansion. I would pull out the "too long, didn't read" excuse, but that got nerfed 10 press releases ago.

Crusader Kings II: Rajas of India interview: new religions, tiger hunting, and war elephants

T.J. Hafer at

Crusader Kings II: Rajas of India releases this Tuesday, expanding the map of Paradox's medieval strategy sandbox to central Asia and the Indian subcontinent. Not one to venture into strange, new lands unprepared, I met with CK2 lead designer Henrik Fåhraeus to learn everything there was to know about what lies in wait with this expansion. We talked about historical accuracy, India's religions and castes, and more. If you promise not to plot my untimely death, you can share in my findings below.

Diablo 3 game designer makes a case for slower combat

Perry Vandell at

In the dark depths of Blizzard's forums, the Senior Technical Game Designer of Diablo III, Wyatt Cheng, suspended his soul-reaping rampage to answer few questions players had regarding Diablo III's soon-to-be slower combat. His main point: A combat system emphasizing shallow health pools and high DPS is toxic to strategy.

SimCity expands its borders to Cities of Tomorrow in November

Patrick Carlson at

SimCity's upcoming expansion should give you the chance to create a utopian paradise, or maybe a dystopian nightmare, if that's more in line with how you see the world. Cities of Tomorrow launches November 12, according to a new blog post by developer Maxis.

XCOM: Enemy Within 'War Machines' trailer features bio-augs, mechs, alien-punching

Tom Sykes at

Just over a week ago, news broke of XCOM: Enemy Within - a very orangey expansion to Enemy Unknown. The accompanying video, in true XCOM tradition, showed a shadowy guy saying things in his Serious Voice, with nary a hint of gameplay footage to back it up. As with the moon landings and the inner workings of Pat Sharp's Fun House, you'd be forgiven for thinking it was protected by some vast government conspiracy - y'know, if it wasn't for this brand new trailer chock-full of the stuff. It's entitled War Machines, and true to the name it shows off the expansion's new bio-engineering and robo-mech-suit features. There is also a lot of alien-punching. If Will Smith happens to be watching: that one's all on you.

See space slugs slither in Star Wars: The Old Republic's Rise of the Hutt Cartel expansion debut trailer

Omri Petitte at

Some say not all Hutts are evil. I say a race of fat, greedy space slugs can't get evil enough. That's not a tremor in the Force you're feeling, it's the rumble of a mobster gastropod rolling onto the planet Makeb with an invading army in Star Wars: The Old Republic's upcoming Rise of the Hutt Cartel expansion, which you can get a glimpse of in the new trailer BioWare released today.

Omri Petitte at

Hours linger before World of Warcraft's fourth expansion, Mists of Pandaria, rolls into sight like a barrel of brew. If punchy pandas, flippable tables, and melodramatic attack callouts during companion pet battles represent the scope of your expectations for Pandaria, you're missing out. Like an enigmatic kung-fu grandmaster wistfully stroking his carpet beard, Blizzard broadens your knowledge with an enlightening look at the expansion's full range of proffered content. Have a watch inside and read up on our interview with Greg "Ghostcrawler" Street on the yin-yang design decisions behind Pandaria.

Rift: Storm Legion expansion gets release date

Omri Petitte at

Although Guild Wars 2 and The Old Republic have dimmed Rift's limelight somewhat, developer Trion's excellent adherence to steady content updates chugs along with Storm Legion, the first expansion pack. It's set for a November 13 release, but what foes await within? Well....

Crusader Kings 2: Legacy of Rome expansion lets you flex your Byzantium Maximus

Omri Petitte at

The real Byzantine Empire lasted for over a millennium and stretched across the Mediterranean nations as a powerful autocracy, but that's only because it didn't spend a devilishly long time figuring out Crusader Kings 2's multiplicative complexity. Of course, Paradox's excellent dynasty simulator luckily exists today, and it's getting a visit from Constantinople itself in the Legacy of Rome expansion releasing later this year for $10.
