Bring retro valuables back to life in The Repair House

Not every gaming experience needs to be about the thrill of competition, the topping of leaderboards, or the popping of heads. Over the years, a growing number of laid-back sims have been cropping up to cater for every relaxing fantasy you can think of—from riding an 18-wheeler across the highways of America, to building a PC from scratch, to jetwashing cars.

Now, the original creator behind PC Building Simulator, with his new studio Quantum Logic Games, is delivering The Repair House, which puts you in charge of running a restoration business from the ground up. You know those YouTubers who take yellowing, faded old products, then make them look all sparkling-new again? Well now's your chance to step into their shoes. Clients will bring you all their beloved old valuables to patch up, and the joy of this game is in the sheer range of detailed and nostalgic belongings you'll get to tinker with.

Whether you're restringing a guitar, fixing the motherboard of an ancient 70s video game console, restoring an arcade cabinet to its full splendour, or giving new life to a quaintly 90s-style boombox, everything you work on presents a unique yet relaxing creative challenge.

You'll have all the restoration tools at your disposal. Power-wash years of grime and dirt off dusty old belongings, sandblast rust off of metals, then spray, paint, and polish those collectables back to the condition they deserve to be in.

There's more to The Repair House than just tinkering. You are running a business, after all, so you'll be accepting commissions from various clients, each with their own deadlines and demands for how they want their precious things restored. That console you restore may need a powder-green cover, a toy train may need new wheels, while a jukebox may need a coat of that classic 50s cherry red gloss. You'll be working to time limits, and the faster and better you get a job done, the more you get paid.

But what do you do with all that hard-earned money? Well, as the title suggests, The Repair House very much takes place in a house. Starting out with nothing but a workbench and a bunch of cardboard boxes filled with your belongings, your income will let you turn this house into more of a home (or at least a super-cool slumber den) filled with all manner of beautifully restored vintage goodies. Fill the place out with turntables, toys, arcade cabinets, and instruments, tailoring it to your tastes and things you like to have knocking around your home.
