Tomb Raiders

Rise of the Tomb Raider is one of 2016’s biggest video game release on PC. And if you haven’t already experienced Lara Croft’s gripping new adventure, you can get a free copy of the game with a new bundle from NVIDIA. For a limited time, if you buy a GeForce GTX 960 GPU, NVIDIA’s affordable high performance GPU, you will get a copy of Rise of the Tomb Raider bundled free

Rise of the Tomb Raider is the follow-up to 2013’s Tomb Raider franchise reboot and sees a leaner and meaner Lara Croft as she embarks upon a quest to continue her late Father’s research into the lost city of Kitezh and an artifact said to bestow immortality. As her adventure begins, she soon discovers that an ancient order of knights known as Trinity is also after the same thing. Her journey takes her from Syria to the freezing wastes of Siberia where, over the course of the story, she has to learn to survive by collecting resources for crafting items, engage in combat against enemies and wild animals, and explore vast tombs containing elaborate physical puzzles.

Lara’s increasing skills as an adventurer see her running, jumping and ziplining her way around a vast and bleakly beautiful open-world environment. The action flows from puzzle solving to athletic exploration to combat, which is all punctuated by stunning cinematic cutscenes that are also blended seamlessly with the action.

Season Pass holders can take advantage of Rise of the Tomb Raider’s DLC packages, which are also available to purchase individually. The latest is a chapter called Cold Darkness Awakened and sees Lara traveling to an old decommissioned Cold War research facility where she finds something has gone terribly wrong. The facility’s murky past has violently resurfaced as a deadly affliction spreads through the wilderness transforming Trinity soldiers into maniac killers. It’s up to Lara to use all her skills to defeat these monsters and somehow shut down the research facility.

This comes on top of the previous DLC packages Endurance Mode and Baba Yaga: The Temple of the Witch, the later of which sees Lara enter the Wicked Vale in order to find a missing person but discovers something much more chilling and difficult to explain.

Rise of the Tomb Raider is a spectacular achievement. A story expertly told on a grand scale with a superb mix of survival, combat and puzzling and wrapped in genuinely breathtaking visuals that can only be fully appreciated when your gaming rig is rocking the sheer, technological grunt of a high performance GPU built for next-gen gaming. Check out the official GTX 960 bundle page for more details on how you can score Rise of the Tomb Raider on PC for free.
